WTF with that call by Bob Davidson in the Phillies game? He stopped following the ball for some reason. In the snap shot, you can see the ball clearly fair inside the line and he is staring straight ahead making a foul sign. What the hell?

Alright so I'm on vacay and only have mobile so I can't research this more but I've seen several different stories on the Medlen situation. I've heard Martinez is replacing him, then KK, then Minor... Then I go on here and see nothing about Martinez, that KK isn't going to be used at all, and that Minor will start(don't know for how long).

Looks like Minor will start against Norris @Houston, which is probably as good of a pitching matchup as we could ask for. Norris has given up 3 or fewer earned runs in only 6 out of his 16 starts this year. He's pitched in the seventh inning three times. And it's the Astros.

OTOH we seem to be playing to the level of the opposing picher lately, so maybe this means nothing.

The Phils have been so erratic lately it's been ridiculous.

Starting in July:

Swept by Pirates in 4 game series
Lose 2/3 to Bravos
Sweep the Reds in 4 games outscoring them by a total of 5 runs
*ASB*
Lose 3/4 to the Cubs
Lose 3/4 to the Cards (with a stretch in here of losing 4 games in a row by a margin of 4 runs or more)
Sweep Rockies in 4
Sweep D'backs in 3
Lose 2/3 to Nats
Sweep the Fish in 3

Really a bizarre stretch of baseball games.

Oh well, at this point I'm ready for us to regress to the mean when it comes to batting with RISP and continue our great starting pitching. If this happens, I don't care what the Phils do.

man, what a luckbox win for the Phillies - they are really piling up the 1-run wins now - would like to see that normalize some

Yeah Wags is starting to look scary out there.

I'd love to see him get back into early season form soon.

McLouth has been tearing it up since going to AAA. 3 HRs in like 7 games with a good average and a ton of walks (just scanned box scores. OPS is .845 in AAA overall for the year but remember it being ~.750 after his rehab from the concussion). Hopefully he can come back up and contribute in September, if not sooner.

Mets are never a factor. Too old and injured late
