yeah I somehow didn't register him on the team sheets, otherwise have him obviously. Also went Carrol over Gayle which went well.

I was torn on carroll over gayle as well. I feel carroll is kinda ****ty, but went him as a blocker ultimately. Thought gayle was a way better spot. He's in a few of my gpp lu one of which i think is going to ship all the main tournies. need to hold on and fade like 15-17 pts from 1 player from late game to have a really nice day.

From the looks of it every one made terrible plays today stacking newcastle and bournemouth.

If cabaye was still in the game, I don't think Gayle would have taken the fk and score his
second goal. Gayle was a good gpp pick, boom or bust. It just happened to be today when he reached his ceiling.

I'm sure this question has an easy answer...
But why do GPPs close at a certain number instead of being open to going above the guaranteed prize pool?
Thx in advance!

Legal reasons. The prize pool must be stated before hand and not be funded by entry fees. It's actually a massive handicap for the industry and their ability to increase profits and a stupid ****ing law if you ask me.

This had to with the UIGEA legislation in the US on gambling, fantasy sports need to have pre-determined prizes in their contests not to fall foul of the law.

Grey area and hence why they ended up in a lot of legal hustle across the different states.

In the UK this does not apply, it is considered gambling and pool betting. No ambiguity so a GPP can increase in prizes with more entries than expected. Only few sites like Bet4best can do this with contests filling with more than expected.

Problem here is attracting, engaging and retaining customers. Most UK sites have at best few hundred players and lots of overlay as we can see in Mondo. They started with 10k GPP and now decreased to about 1k to 2k, increased buy-in's to £10. Few hard-core players left now, not a sustainable business.

Couldn't they make UK-only or EU-only tournaments?

I really have no idea why DK didn't actually launch in the UK. What a waste of sponsorship money.

Have a look at this, the bookies have spotted an opening and will be interesting to see how it works out. £2 entry, global jackpot, first time through retail bookmakers and you can check progress & stats online.

So DK's slowness could be a gain for others. The irony of bookies eventually adding fantasy sports, they could do well and run it much better than a lot of the existing mediocre platforms.

That's just another small company, it's no different to the other zillion small sites. If one of the big bookies spends time on this they could take the entire UK market and DK are screwed if they run into any more US legislation problems.

Yes, a small company but a first one for retail bookmakers. Expected really a big summer tournament is good time to launch.

The big bookies will follow in time and will not surprise me if it is the likes of William Hill eventually. They used to run various fantasy games and run markets for the FPL gameweek performers.

I assume the reason bookies haven't gone down the fantasy sports route is because it would take people away from the house/sportsbook games where they have a much bigger edge.

Im surprised so many people waited until this week to play the triple captain card too. I played mine a couple weeks back when Aguero/Sanchez were the obv plays and both got 75/76 points.

+1 to the issues this week. I couldn't find Tim Howard and read that there was an issue with USA players? Not sure if true. Green tick next to starting players didn't appear on the app either.

Gambling companies don't think that way. If someone wants to play fantasy sports, they can play on your site and you lose all the money, or they can play on your version.

Also, it's almost never right to triple captain a single gameweek player. The problem was simply that the prior double gameweek was bench boost for most people.

Here is the DK rep response to players missing. Make of it what you will, find the blase attitude pathetic. Who are they to decide who is worthless and should be taken out ? Bunch of jokers, their PR is amateurish.

On the plus side if it has something to do with preparing a game for Copa America then they should announce it in a clear manner and make a list of all players that are missing from the Gameweek be it for EPL or MLS.

For seasonal games, I did wild card and captain Sanchez for GameWeek 34. Bench boost Gameweek 37 and going with my last chip all out attack for Gameweek 38. Made triple captain on Aguero early season. Be glad to break into the top 100k for this season.

I do like seasonal games a lot still, minus the volatility of daily/weekly games. So look forward to month long games for Euro 2016.

Why a much bigger edge? DFS has 10(+)% rake, sportsbook edge is typically 5% I think.

I mean, 0 goals last 4 games and 3 in last 10. But then 3 now already... Got Mignolet in most line ups so it's fine I guess. Also how is Robles a pick over Gomes?
