P.S.-Thank god Vernon Davis went out with a concussion or else I would have lost this week.
My suggestion (in the event that an owner doesn't have a player to start for certain positions)

*TR finds some sort of generic dynasty rankings.
*TR drops the lowest player(s) on said list for the highest projected player(s) in the positions they need.

1st offense: Warning
2nd offense: Loss of 1st draft pick
3rd offense: Loss of all remaining draft picks
4th offense: Kicked out

We could also establish some sort of fines as well.

Something like that would probably work best, imo.

Since draft picks can and have been traded, revocation of draft picks is not realistic. I vote for a monetary penalty.

Also, we have been lucky in that all of the teams have been fairly clumped record wise and no team has been mathematically eliminated. I feel like tanking and/or neglect is likely to rise once teams get eliminated from playoff contention and have absolutely nothing to play for. Indeed, they actually benefit from tanking/neglect. Accordingly, I think this should be an in-season vote and not wait until the off-season.
I think commish should fill players for a team. If you don't like it, they you should roster enough players at each position to field a line-up.

I'm in 4 other leagues that are 12t with top 6 makings the playoffs. Here are how many teams are either in the playoffs right now, or within 2 games. We have 11/12 teams like that in this league.

11/12
11/12
10/12
9/12

It doesn't really seem like we are "lucky" to have so many teams still in it.

Why don't we do a running $100 bet between us each year whoever finishes higher regular season standings that cannot be cancelled under any circumstances? Should be free money since I know "absolutely nothing" about FFB.
Because I didn't even draft for this year? Why would I throw in an extra buy-in?

Okay - since you drafted for the future, it will start after this year. Deal? Great bet for you since I my starting QB is 38 years old and I know "absolutely nothing" about ffb.

Also lol at bragging after winning one lucky week. Put your money where your mouth is tool.

Hey guys sorry! I was busy this weekend. I obviously am not tanking DUCY? My team is 4-5 and am on the longest winning streak in the league right now even though I don't have a lot of points. Just hear me out a bit this is me gameplanning maybe you could learn a thing or two going forward (maybe it's FPS whatever):

I have Gronk on bye who is arguably my 2nd best player so far. I picked up a s****y filler (G. Graham) who I figured was good for 5 points or so (he got 3.8). However during Friday a rumor started re: Foster's injury being super serious, so I had to make a decision to on who to drop for to get Dennis Johnson. Why the hell would I drop Pierce (who btw is the best RB on the Ravens) or Britt (who I'm hanging onto to see where he lands next season). Maybe I could have dropped Thompkins (I think he deserves until the end of the season given what he has shown so far), Goodwin (He's really good though), or Vincent Brown (who I thought was going to be getting the #s that Keenan Allen is currently sporting when I drafted him). I thought I would gain at least one game to evaluate who I want to keep going forward.

I figured I could pick up a Kicker on MNF if the matchup was close (both kickers on the teams are available, which I had checked before I picked up DJohnson). The two crappy performers on my team would be dropped before SNF. I was up 11 with Pierre Thomas vs Brees/Graham/Sproles, so I decided to not bother picking up Ben Watson. Basically, I believed keeping one of those guys on my roster was more valuable for my team than the slim shot that I would gain from picking up not even a replacement level TE.

In retrospect, I should have dropped DHB, picked up John Carlson (22.8) or Delanie Walker (16.2), neither of which was even on my radar because obv I am tanking right, and hope one of the kickers score 14~20 points for tonight's game.

TL;DR: I basically traded couple points this week for potentially a lot more points next week. Tanking = not trying your hardest to win, in order to help you in the future, more often than not regarding draft positions.

Ok sweet! Now everybody can calm down. I think bthekuta's concerns still have merit so maybe we need to come up with something but I would much rather penalize the tanking team instead of giving the 7th best team the 1st pick.

We can make a rule where we HAVE to have complete rosters instead of holes. I think what I'm doing is the equivalent of benching your defense on MNF when your team is up 2 so you won't get negative points.

The problem with that is we have no IR spots and super shallow benches (for a dynasty league anyway) so if we make people fill rosters no matter what someone might be forced to drop a pretty valuable player when the optimal move is to punt that week.

This. Just letting you guys know that for this coming week, I likely won't have a full team. Not b/c I am tanking (traded my draft picks anyway) but b/c I am not dropping a valuable bench player for a crappy bye week fill-in for Witten at TE. I learned my lesson when I lost the SF DEF.

agreed. Because anyone could say "oh I want to see who pants out" as a semi tank.

Btw if we're stashing the likes of Britt and Thompkins, we're gonna wanna vote on bigger benches. Talk about stashing pure trash. Better guys currently on waivers.

OK how does gs3737 fill his roster? Who does he drop?

If we had IR spots he could put Doug Martin on IR and fill his roster easy. He would not have Wayne if we had IR spots because NDfan wouldn't have dropped him. Crabtree would be on IR. Locker would be going on IR maybe.

So what, in fantasy football sometimes you have to drop players you would like to keep.

I agree with this. A team should be required to field a complete line-up.

Ya I have dropped guys all year, because I had to. Would have been nice to not dress Vinateri this week and hold another guy. I'm sure you all see why

Your first offer was my team vs your team this year. I LOLed at that since I've said countless times that I didn't even draft for this year so offering that bet was a pretty big fail by you.

I countered a bet about whether or not I would make the playoffs this year, which you never even acknowledged. You just skipped to you me vs you bet every year for eternity.

Try to keep up.

+1

It sucks more in dynasties, but sometimes you have to do it.

I remember when I suggested more roster spots and half of you laughed at me.
