it is only 12 hrs pr pick right?

So first pick is out 10.36 tonight and the next 4.36 tomorrow afternoon.

I am on a different timezone all together so there might be errors.

ya.

I think he gets till 4:36 tomorrow, and he deserves that imho. Good drafter, I'd actually prefer he not miss his pick even though I'd benefit from it.

I believe 4:36 tomorrow is the right call.

Are you saying he has untill then to make both picks?

Well it's the same thing if he makes none or 2. If he makes it back by 4:35 he can choose 2. If he makes it back at 4:37 I'll make my choice and he'll choose 2 right after. Same thing since by the rules he can jump in any time once missed.

Toughest draft I've ever done, nicely done everyone.

Would consider trading down again on my 7th if anyone wants to start thinking about it. Still some juicy guys out there. [undrafted] and [undrafted] in particular

Topic of discussion since we've got all weekend. How do you curb people tanking for draft picks? I've never done one of these, but I'd personally find it a bit gross if studs got benched for duds in the last weeks when draft order was up for grabs. Circumvent that with a lottery for the bottom 3 teams or something? How does that all work?

Ive heard of leagues doing this:

The team that finishes 7th, so the bubble for the playoffs gets the first pick in next years draft. So everyone is still fighting for 7th even if they are out of the playoffs to get that 1st pick in the draft.

I like this. Keeps people from giving up early, focusing on next year. So 7 - 12th get 1 - 6?

The rookie draft is linear right?

However, the best would be if every team follow my lead:

Trading away all your next year's picks.

Yeh. 7-12 would go 1-6. The rookie draft is not a snake draft. It goes 1-12 then 1-12 again.

in my other dynasty league that i do irl with friends, we discussed what your suggesting the #7 getting #1 to prevent tanking.

what we decided to do is if we thought teams were tanking commish would just edit their lineups. obv that wouldnt work here but thats what we did.

when discussing the #7 getting the #1, we also thought about giving the last 2 teams(11/12) a bye in the 1st week kinda like in the winners bracket 1/2 get a bye except 11/12 get a bye so they are at least guaranteed #3/4 pick.

I'm good for anything you guys choose, just figured it was ideal to decide it now while it's still early.

so the brackets would be:

(1).7th vs 10th
(3) ------------ w(1.) vs 12th
(4) ------------- w(2.) vs 11th
(2.) 8th vs 9th

w(3) vs w(4) for 7th -- 1st pick next year
l(3) vs l(4) for 9th -- 3rd pick next year
l(1) vs l(2) for 11th -- 5th pick next year

I can dig it.

The above would mean a slight advantage for the last two places, but not big enough for people to start tanking early on.

The worst case scenario for the last place would result in a 4th pick the following year.

you have loser bracket right as i imagined it. winner bracket would play out like it regulary does for any sort of fantasy league cause your obv not tanking, but you can tinker with winner bracket however you like to fine tune it to whatever league would want i suppose
