I'm pretty sure I should have Dan's 2nd rounder.

I'm sure I'll lose this one too. Lololol

Yeah here it is.

I see what happen. You gave me the 2.01 instead. I should have the 2.12 not the 2.01.

Dans trade's are hard, because he trades a lot, and sometimes doesn't specify which 2nd rounder for example. In this case he traded 2.12 to bthekuta, in the Woodhead trade.

Yeah I think it's from Kuta but it's Dan's original 2nd round pick which would make it 2.12.

Kuta will chime in I'm sure.

I want to keep the league competitive. So just take the 2.01 Kuta. You need it a lot more than me.

Dan owns ToeRazor's 1st rounder from the blockbuster Demarco Murray Trade

I own Dan's 1st rounder from trading three 2nds for it last year.

I own NDfan's 2nd and 3rd rounders from Jarvis Landry trade.

NDfan owns Hanster's 2nd rounder from Blount trade.

Hanster in turn owns Rafiki's 2nd and 3rd rounders from subsequent Blount trade.

I own ToeRazor's 2nd rounder from Golden Tate trade with Dan, Dan had that pick from Demarco Murray trade.

Waterwolves owns Dan's 2nd round pick through Mark Ingram trade (previously, I traded Dan's own pick back for Phillip Dorsett, which had been traded to me as part of the Brandon Marshall trade)

In same Mark Ingram trade, Dan owns WW's 3rd round pick

GS3737 sent NDfan his 3rd for Lafell (no swap as to owned Hanster pick)

I own Hanster's 3rd as part of Peyton deal

I own Dan's 3rd round pick as part of Vincent Jackson deal.

Would you guys take a $12k pay cut to go to a much smaller firm closer to where you live/grew up? Commute each way is 15 minutes instead of 45 minutes. Hours will be less, work-life balance is better, and people are friendlier.

Let's assume at your current job of 2.5 years, you act the same way you do in a fantasy football league and everyone hates you. You have gone through 9 secretaries during this time because you are a nightmare. A lot of it, however, is not your fault because the firm is completely backwards with technology and is very poorly run. Your bosses love you because you do good work and are strong with clients and they made it extremely clear that you are on the partnership track.

Would you be able to get on a partnership track with your new company? Also if you took a 12K pay cut would you be able to sustain your current lifestyle comfortably?

1) No, but the set up is much different. "Partner" at my current firm is not an equity partner and is not much more than a title. However, that title matters to me. The new firm, only the 3 names on the wall are partner and everyone else is an associate.

2) Yes. (Edit - but the 12k pay cut will hurt since I am looking to buy a house and housing prices in OC/LA market are outrageous)

Not to get too nosey. But around how much percentage is a 12K pay cut of your total salary? Like if it is around 10% of your total salary I would go for it. If it is around 20% or more I probably would not. But also how quickly can you get a raise to make up the 12000 pay cut you are going to take. If you can make up the 12K pay cut in a year or less I would say go for it. But if it would take a couple years to get back to what you are making now I would probably not.

I am super on the fence so I am reaching out to advice anywhere I can.

9%. The guy I currently work for is awesome. Cannot get a better boss than him. Super understanding all the time in a very stressful type of job and gives me the freedom to do whatever I want all the time. The partner I interviewed with seems like a good guy to work for and he is well respected in the community. The place I work at now is the biggest and most prestigious firm in the line of work that we do in the socal area. The firm I interviewed with is 1/6 the size but is known as the up and coming type place.

Again, I have no friends since I am super arrogant and a gunner. The staff, junior partners, and other associates despise me. While I have these types of problems no matter where I go, these issues are much more prevalent here than they were at my past jobs.

Assuming you take 4 weeks of vacation a year would save 240 hours a year on the commute alone but the problem I see is that it seems your current place of employment suits you pretty well. They don't mind that you're a colossal dick bag because they recognize how valuable you are otherwise plus it's a larger firm so your hate is spread around more, going to a smaller place might concentrate that feeling to the point of them finding you unbearable. If you enjoy being a dickhead, which it seems you do, I'd stick with the place that not only doesn't care but seems to encourage it.
