new(?) ffb league format idea

I would like some input on an idea I have for a fantasy football league format.
Basically a normal head to head league with a gambling twist. Normal scoring. Normal amt of teams. But you start with x amount of units and place a weekly bet on your own team to win each week. You determine your own wager amount. Most units wins.
problem: how to keep max # of players in contention for max amt of time given cumulative scoring format
so,
max/min wager per week? progressive escalation?
rebuys?, setup?
probably still need playoffs rather than straight cumulative units. Seed based on total units and play out playoffs in normal h2h non betting format?

Seems like collusion could be bigger than normal. You tell me that you are betting big this week in your match against me and I tank my lineup?
I had a good feeling that MJD would beat ADP this week, darn it.
