well first order of business is to identify/reconcile how wisler ended up on LK's roster and which transaction that Wisler was/was to be in re: Othello

I feel like if you are trading someone it's on the trader to make sure that player legally belongs to you

Personally I think the person who made the error should have to give more in return. I know this has happened to me and I had to give up nfl pick exchange for MLB and high pick as well. Also on the other side dan traded me pick he didn't own for d Adams however I was jerk and agreed to something reasonable.

I believe the best approach is two fold return the initial trade with compensation of pick or offer a player in similar position of great value and the league can vote if that trade is beneficial to other player enough to be fair without been unreasonable.

LK drafted him in 2014. The player belongs to LK.


I picked him up early in the season, april or may. I had him for a month or so I think then I traded him to Drew. Jeffress + Wisler for NFL 2nd. So he has been playing "ilegally" for at least 2 months.

Now, if Drew had Jefress still we would be able to just cancel the trade perhaps, but as he has traded away Jeffress that is not an option.

So there are 2 options atm.

Either I trade Wisler from LK so that Drew can "legally" own Wisler.

Or I trade Wisler from Drew (that he doesn't really own, but I would be "buying" him back to give him to LK).

The problem now is that I haven't been able to find trade with any of them. I have to compensate Drew. If we can't find something we both agree on, which we haven't so far, the question is, what do we do?

I think the fairest thing would be to purpose 3 trades that compensate either owner and the league can vote on which one best suits the fairness and punishment.

Lol at Wisler getting rocked right now

Wisler has been on loose's aaa team forever. He drafted him in the 2014 aaa draft.

Think we should vote on a resolution to this for both this instance and future ones to set a precedent going forward. Three options is fine but I think a draft pick or some sort would be for the best. Think Othello should compensate both loose and drew. I think the punishment should be something like drew gets his NFL 2nd back and Othello gets Jeffries back or they simply find a replacement player for Jeffries and for loose he should get a pick like an NFL 3rd from Othello.

But idk, just a suggestion to build off we can talk about it.

I also don't think me getting my 2nd back is fair, I shouldn't benefit.

If for whatever reason Othello is docked a pick or something it should just disappear instead of going to a particular person.

I have probably missed something, but what should Loose get compensated for? The only thing he has contributed is that he missed that his player was owned for 2-3 months. He hasnt been affected negatively in any way. Could be the most random thing I ever heard to give him an NFL 3rd for this lol.

Edit; If we would award people draft picks for this, there would be no reason for anyone to ever speak up when somebody picks up their players. As an example, when you pick up Odubel Herrera or Graveman, I will just be quiet for 2 weeks, then mention you got my player and taa-daa, I get an NFL 3rd? Cool. :P

You took a player off of his aaa and were not only using him but traded him afterwards and you don't see how he deserves compensation?

Yeah I still dont agree. He has not been affected in a negative way. I traded him away and will pay for that, and most likely more than the actual value of said player is. Why the double (or almost triple?) tax?

I know everybody in this league is a saint and would never even walk through a red light, but if we are giving out NFL 3rds for picking up wrong players I wont say anything in the thread when somebody picks up my player. Thats the system we want?

Ideally everyone polices everyone else and when someone picks up one of their AAA players they'd announce it. Of course it's also on the picker to check AAA and ideally one of the two parties detect it before it's too late
Unfortunately it seems like LK has not been able to get on too much over the last bit

In this case I don't see how we compensate LK given he did not take an action involving Wislers like trading him or calling him up

I would lean towards remedies to fix not compensate or punish for this case, but advocate a much more concrete way of preventing the pickups of AAA players. I know mistakes happen but these things are generally happening too much in my eyes

Yeah. I checked the scoreboard and I have even played with Wisler against Loosekanen lol. And the trade was announced here in the thread and he didnt say anything. Im not saying anything is on him, its on me. But its such a messed up situation lol.

They sure do. I like -10 Faab (or something in that range) for every pickup that is already on aaa, (and spelled correctly).

I've been saying we should have a penalty like that for about 2 years now

Drews essentially losing a player which he should get compensation for and should get compensation for now not having a player he thought he had. Othellos should also get penalized.

My 2 cents

My opinion on this is the following:

-Wisler goes back to LK AAA
-Drew gets compensated equal or tad bit greater value
-Othello gets punished a MLB 2nd or 3rd (keep punishment in same sport)
-LK doesn't get anything other than Wisler since he is also at fault for not paying attention. Wisler was played against him by Othello and Drew!

I'm not asking for any compensation. I just straight don't want to trade him even for what may be considered fair value. I like his potential.

And I have set my rosters damn near every day this year. I want to do well. I answer PMs quickly. I really don't have time to do a weekly check on making sure people didn't pick up guys on my AAA roster. I don't believe I deserve blame for someone else's mistake.

Othello has pm me that I have 32 players this week on my roster. Sorry for the mistake I knew I did have 32 and planned to drop someone when I woke up after waivers (Aus times make it annoying) but had busy week at work and complete slipped my mind that I need to.

I put my hand forward to hopefully quick resolve this issue by having this weeks score be 0-10 against myself. I believe this first time this happened this season and has not occurred but will go back through my weekly roster to confirm.

If no stats were affected by Span, then I don't think you should forfeit the match.

yeah, you only played 30 players this week anyway so i dont think its as big a deal as sacrificing the whole match

Im just not sure what our standard procedure is in a case like this. We can't just go with "I'll drop X". In that case, what if you stream 2 guys this week, one of them with a weekly 6.57 ERA and 1.45 Whip or whatever, and the other goes 2.44 ERA and 0.95 Whip. And you just say, oh I'll just drop the one who had a bad outing :P

To me the most reasonable solution is that whoever is your last guy in, should be who's stats doesn't count. Because you really didn't have any room for him on your roster. But I usually don't have the same opinion as the rest of the league, so lets hear what the rest think or if this has happened before so we already have a precedent?
