Fernandez (biceps) will throw a bullpen session Thursday and could be activated from the disabled list shortly thereafter, the Miami Herald reports.

Spin:
Fernandez is working his way back swiftly after hitting the disabled list with strained biceps on August 8. Manager Dan Jennings further noted that Fernandez may surpass a minor league rehab assignment and jump right back into the Marlins' rotation following a simulated game. Regardless of specifics, a positive throwing session this week will put the ace on the fast track back to the big club.

J Kang PIT
A Ramirez CWS
W Flores NYM
ass cab and ass ram are complete humps, so they're out. As disappointing as Hanley has been, and as promising as Kang and Lindor look it still kinda seems like making a move just to make a move. Hanley could still go .340/10 from here, the others can't, and he's got Fenway/other al east parks, they don't.

I have to wonder if Hanley is playing hurt. He was mashing until he hurt his wrist running in to a wall in May and hasn't done much since. Plausible there's something happening there we just don't know about.

Man it seems so unlikely he turns it around, I feel like there's a better chance, as Gary says, that he's actually hurt and they stick him on the DL or something. Just so hard to believe that Lindor or Kang could actually be worse than him ROS.

10 steals would bump me up 5 points in a roto league:

I get dee Gordon, scherzer, belt

I give Brantley, archer, rendon

Yay, nay? Really need a guy like Gordon if I wanna make a push for 3rd or 2nd

Yay. Quickly.

* Assumes you're not losing too much in other offensive cats obv. Overall value is inconsequential to trading at this point. It's all about getting what you need by trading away excess that won't cost you points.

Example: you're leading R/HR/RBI by a substantial margin, but are in a similar SB situation to the one you meantioned. You get offered Gordon for your Nelson Cruz, look around for better SB values for Cruz and don't find one. Why wouldn't you do this?

I think I'd be fine the others, mainly concerned about the homers and RBI I'd be losing since Gordon has hit all year. Springer and Duda should be back soon too so I'll accept it

Yeah, thinking somewhere around 4-5 is where he goes. I'm def enjoying having him now, but would be nervous taking him that high in 2016.

Agreed, wouldn't ever draft him next year but that's about where he's gonna go

that bum verlander

on a serious note, it's not like his 'comeback' has been accompanied by increased velocity. maybe this is a felix-style adjustment where he no longer needs to rely on the velocity to dominate

or maybe he's running hotter than the sun

last 4 starts:
29 IP, 31 K's, 1 ER, 0.70 WHIP, 4:1 ratio of K:BB

And his ratios on the year look pretty respectable now too... 3.45 ERA and 1.07 WHIP

I almost want to believe.

re: his velocity, thats the thing, i think he's learned that hes not gonna get people out with a 97mph fastball anymore and finally adjusted. plus, his last 3 opponents havent been scrubs by any means (laa, hou, tex). ive had him on a dynasty league so ive had to believe

Def playing hurt, being kept in the lineup for defense. Don't think you'd end up kicking yourself too hard for it.
