Was just offered this ....
I give Alex Gordon and Joakim Soria
I get Trumbo, Will Venable, Broxton, Casey Jannsen

I'm pretty short on power on my team. Have uehera and Balfour as closers as well. My obp and stolen bases is among league leaders. What ya think?

Trumbo out for weeks, if not months. Broxton about to be a set up guy, Janssen recently had a set back, and may not even be the closer upon his return, whenever that is. I think he's trying to trade rape.

Yeah, he's better than Aoki as long as you don't need sbs.

I have a few sb guys. Both of them have been awful. Now I feel like I should have dropped aoki and not Blackmon

I don't think so. Your rotation is already very solid with Hamels back and Iwakuma shouldn't be far behind. As much I like Beltre, this has the potential to be a lingering injury that causes him to miss games here and there throughout the year.

Who's his SS? Because if he'll throw in someone in the middle between Reyes and Rollins (say a 12th-14th round type) I'd snap it up.

2 reasons:

1- Your rotation isn't bad at all, but it looks middle of the pack to me. Fernandez would obviously solidify you there.

2- You must start playing Abreu full time until he shows you something different than he's showed so far. I'm all for depth, I've got Simmons and Dozier riding the pine on one of my teams right now, but Abreu would be a 4th rounder today, hell probably 3rd.

Michael Cuddyer is available in the free standard espn roto league I'm in. my team is pretty sick but my OF is my weakest link. I could drop Angel Pagan for him and basically sit him in my OF until he is reactivated. Good idea? My team is lagging in HR and RBI right now and first in SB.

i have like no one else to drop

I got offered Teheran, Meija and Matt Adams for my Price and Cobb.

I countered with Price and Cuddyer for his J. Upton and Teheran.

He has now countered with his Upton, Adams, Teheran and Matt Holliday, for my Harper and Archer.

I feel like I could squeeze a bit more value out of it just based on Harpers hype, but as countered I think I'd be taking the decently better end of it.

5x5 std h2h, keep 5 each year. Upton would replace Harper as one of my keepers obv.

I think you could drop Aoki for Butler. I think Butler could be a good buy-low candidate, and he's proven for batting average. The one thing I'd caution is something Fangraphs wrote a couple days ago, in an article titled "Some hitters to start worrying about":

Quote:
Butler rode a strong K/BB ratio and a consistently high line drive rate (above average in each of the last five seasons) to a productive run in Kansas City despite a steady decline in his fly ball rate and a corresponding steady increase in his ground ball rate. As long as he was crushing a solid percentage of the relatively few fly balls he hit, he remained very productive. This ended in 2013, however, when his hard fly ball rate plunged, and he became roughly a league average hitter on fly balls. This is a no-no for a plodding ground-ball hitter with no complementary skills. Only Derek Jeter and Elvis Andrus have hit fewer fly balls among AL qualifiers, and they have slightly different skill sets than Butler, to put it mildly. This may be a harbinger of the premature decline phase often faced by a relatively unathletic, bat-only player.

Yeah... looking at your lineup I guess Pagan is your most expendable player.

Probably too early to think this but maybe Springer isn't an MLB-ready hitter right now.

Just something to consider.

I wouldn't do that deal. It's a 4-for-2 where you're giving up the best player (Harper) and would have to drop 2 guys just to make the deal work.

Justin Upton is striking out at an alarming rate, also. Take out the 4-game stretch where he tore the cover off the ball and he's hitting like .197, I think I read somewhere.

So I just traded away Lance Lynn for Evan Gattis. 6x6 H2H adding OPS and Losses.

My other SP's are Darvish, Bailey, G. Cole, Salazar, Estrada, Eovaldi, Hudson, and Straily, so I feel like I'm ok in strikeouts, which is Lynn's biggest upside.

I'm doing this deal because I have a black hole at catcher, been playing matchups with AJ Pierzynski and Mike Zunino. Gattis also currently leads MLB in AB per HR at 11.3. I just want a catcher I can plug in and forget about and sleep confidently knowing I have an above-average player at the position.

Did I give up too much?

Sorry to post this again, but I have to start one of these today:

Archer TB @ CWS (Johnson)
Miller STL vs PIT (Cole)
Ventura KC @ BAL (Jimenez)

Weekly H2H, I'm winning every pitching category decisively this week, if I could sit all four I would. My smallest margin is Ks. I'm leaning Ventura, anybody start Archer or Miller?

I would start Archer - CWS has by the far the worst offense out of those 3 rival teams

Interesting. I would say I'd be giving up long term value in this one but the guys I'd be dropping would be some mix of something like Teixeira, Ross Jr., Crawford and a middle man like Cook. I think it would project as a decent starting lineup upgrade but I also have read the issues with Upton King a lot so I'm less sure. I should try to squeeze more out of it if he's the one offering.

Archer imo.

I wouldn't trade Bryce in a keeper unless I was significantly increasing my win equity this year. With that trade I don't think you are.

Archer for me.
Best pitcher of the group facing the worst offense.

How are you guys Polanco in keeper leagues?
assume he can be kept in the last round or at the minimum auction price.
What type of hitter/pitcher would you be looking to get in a 1-1? (assume the player you get back could be kept at this years ADP)

Love Closer Monkey! Joe Smith in as closer for LAA.

Would you drop Tommy Hunter for Smith?
