Back to the Pecota issue, without looking myself, were those players optioned to minors after cuts were made?

Aslo, starting next year is anyone in favor of a no trade period during the drafts? And if we do continue to trade, the 48 period should be enforced during rookie draft as well.

Pecota's guys were demoted after cuts I believe.

I like trading during the draft and auction.

re: pecota situation, what happens if the nats or phillies lose a pitcher to an injury between now and start of the season and one of Cole or Biddle ends up back in the picuter to make the roster? i think having the start of the season makes the most sense for that kind of rule.

I would expect maybe Corey Seager plus another decent prospect, rather than just Corey Seager alone, but this trade doesn't strike me as especially lopsided or unreasonable. And we have the counter-offer system. So I dunno, let's get a former trade announcement, and an acceptance, give it 48 hours, and see what happens.

Whoa whoa whoa I never accepted

The only reason I posted this ITT is because auction trading seems to be a thing and I figure what the hell, I'll give that a shot

Now that's a quality response

I'm clearly misinterpreting how things work, are auction trades not standard or is that just recent?

In any event so as to not cluster the thread with it I guess I should table whatever my trade ultimately is til after the draft concludes

SRM,

Sorry for any confusion, as this wasn't stated up front. We don't typically do auction-style trades in the thread (though I know I'm guilty of taking part in this lately). It's unusual to even have counter-offers made in a public, back-and-forth fashion - normally the negotiating/bidding is done via PM, then the counter or whatever is posted in the thread.

Any trade offer (original or counter) must be first stated by one party, then confirmed by any additional parties in the thread. At that point, the 48 hour trade clock starts, during which other counters can be made/accepted. Again, we've been loose on the time rule due to the crunch of the draft and auction - this is not the norm and should probably be a bit more strictly enforced even during the super-active part of the offseason.

If you have any questions on anything, feel free to either ask in the thread or PM Exit or myself.

No, a player has to be signed to a team prior to start of our draft.

Plouffe (yr 2, $5) available for free to those with spots left if you just assume the roster spot and his $5 salary.
