Has anyone checked out www.FantasyWorld.com ? They are mixing regular fantasy football with a survivor type game while offering a $1,000,000 prize.

The additional prizes also look good for the $25 entry. Their user count is pretty low as of now so this may be a good opportunity to swoop in and get some good prizes early! Their season doesn't begin until week 2.

After reading a little bit about the site it seems their CEO is David Wu, who was originally the CEO of RotoHog when they were offering insane prizes to come play!

Also they have teamed with a number of celebs who are offering leagues with prizes. I'm thinking of signing up, what do you guys think?

At least try to veil it a little thicker than this.

I was thinking, since it was a survivor type game, that we could come on here, have a group join, and discuss what picks would be good/bad and why. Try and take down the top prize for 2+2, my bad.

You're right though, my other 400+ posts were just in preparation to try and get you to join a website. Good call.

I considered that, but it just seemed so canned. However, your response is convincing me that you are probably legit.

Ha, canned message are habit for me, I apologize for that!

Anyway, back to the topic @ hand. What do you guys think? The format is pretty interesting and it seems like there is a good chance to earn some decent prizes. They are offering a 5 for 4 package last I saw where you pay for 4 teams and get 5. I will probably sign up today at some point.

I had a quick look and the chance of anyone surviving with all roster spots to the end is pretty much nil so the $1million prize is pretty much irrelevant to whether it's good value. The total prize pools apart from that $1million is roughly $16,000 and assuming equal skill level there only has to be over 800 teams for it to be -EV. Even if you think you have an edge it's not going to be a massive one and if there are any more than around 1200 teams I would expect it to be pretty much impossible to be +EV.

Right now there are about 50 players on the leaderboard. Factor that in with the fact that you can also join the PS3 or other celeb "fight clubs" and you still think it's -EV?

I do think I'm going to give it a whirl so I can keep you guys in the loop if you'd like

I did say it was a quick look. I didn't look to see how many players there already were and haven't looked at the things that aren't included in the initial $25 thing. If there are under 800 teams then it will definitely be +EV since there will be an overlay. I would be quite interested if you kept us updated personally.

Ok, I started a league there. Fantasy Football Addicts Unite.

If you end up deciding to try out the sight you should join my league! PM me for details.

I'd like my league to have the most members so tell your friends too.

Anyway, shoot me a message/email if you are interested in joining my league. The season starts week 2 over there so you have a while to decide

Survivor Football teams consist of the following positions:
1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 1 Offense, 1 Defense

For each fantasy team you must select one player at each position each week. Only players available in the system are eligible for selection in a given week. Once you have used a player you may not use that player again for the remainder of the game.

In order to survive your players must meet the following thresholds:
QBs: At least 200 passing yds AND 1 Touchdown
RBs: At least 70 rush/rec yds AND 1 Touchdown
WRs: At least 60 rush/rec yds AND 1 Touchdown
TEs: At least 50 rush/rec yds OR 1 Touchdown
Offense: At least 24 points scored
Defense: 19 or fewer points allowed

Ok, help me out. Who ya got this week for the above criteria?

QB: Jason Campbell
RB: Kevin Smith
WR: Roddy White
TE: Dallas Clark
Offense: Seattle
Defense: Green Bay

Pretty tough to have to project TD's for TE' s and WR's...the chances of making it through the entire season is basically impossible as otherwise noted.

Roddy White; Dallas Clark; GB --I like these picks a lot

Seattle--This one is a maybe

Jason Campbell I like after watching how poor St. Louis' defense looked last week. They made Hasselbeck look like Peyton Manning!

Kevin Smith, I am sorry to say, I do not like. I expect Minnesota's DEF to step up here and shut down Smith forcing Stafford to beat them. I also expect Detroit to get down early forcing them to throw a TON.

Anyone else? I'll work on my picks tonight and post for you guys to pick apart

So, I purchased 5 teams and I just filled out team #1:

QB: Aaron Rodgers
RB: Clinton Portis
WR: Reggie Wayne
TE: John Carlson
OFF: Minnesota Vikings
DEF: Washington Redskins

This would not have been a very good start to the season!

Anyone with week 3 suggestions?

Brutal. This is pretty tough. I think the odds of having a team go 3 weeks perfect is very difficult, let alone an entire season. The scoring aspect will certainly kill you with respect to WR's and TE's.

QB: Kevin Kolb
RB: M. Turner
WR: Steve Smith (Car)
TE: D. Keller
DEF: Denver
OFF: NYG

Right now here is my team:

Kurt Warner
Ryan Grant
-empty-
Dallas Clark
Baltimore OFF
Baltimore DEF

I haven't decided if I am going to use a challenge flag for my WR slot or not. It seems this will be the hardest position to predict from week to week. I think I may hold my flags for the other positions rather than gamble on that one...

Decided against using a challenge flag on the WR slot. Ryan Grant covered the yards but not the TD while Warner and Baltimore covered soft.

So this week my early thinking is this:

P. Manning
-empty-
-empty-
Vernon Davis
Bengals
49ers

So my WR slot is gone for the season. I am thinking of using one of my flags for my RB slot and taking AP against the Packers DEF or Chris Johnson against the Jaguars.

It's early and I'll do a lot more research in the next couple of days, but those are my early thoughts.

Also, if anyone wants to sign up, they're about to announce their week 8 prize. If you do sign up join my fight club! We're currently in 2nd thanks to 2+2 member Siccjay!

Boo Yaa!!

Hey I lost my tight end spot on one of my better teams. Think I should use a flag for it? I am already missing a WR

Am I crazy for wanting to use Glen Coffee this week? I am more than likely going Cedric Benson, but Coffee is gonna get lots of carries and using him now when he is starting saves me a week for an actual starting running back.

For people that don't know he has to get 70 yards and a TD to qualify.

I absolutely do NOT think you are crazy for using him. St. Louis is giving up 148 yds/game rushing this season AND you'd figure that the 49ers will be ahead and try to run the ball more often than not. I like both Benson and Coffee this week actually.

Just thought I'd chime in here to say that I'm really enjoying this game...despite it's simplicity, it's pretty addictive Of course that may have something to do with one of my teams doing well...along with siccjay, I'm one of 7 or 8 people who have only lost one slot/flag total so far. It only took two weeks for everyone to be eliminated from a chance at the $1m...but $10K would still be pretty nice.
