No shock on ODB's ADP.

Looking at how the current ADP's are stacking up, I really think I'd love to be drafting somewhere on the turn. Also gotta think Melvin Gordon isn't staying down there for long.

I've been thinking the same way.

From a fantasy standpoint, maybe, but we can certainly make some educated guesses - find who's playing good offences and will therefore have to pass for example. Must be some correlation in passing yards allowed? Can't just sort by FP as that's mostly turnovers which is 99% variance

I tend to agree but would like to be mostly doing auctions this season which is frankly a better test of skill

Starting doing auctions two years ago and I agree, going to try and go 50/50 this year between auctions and snake drafts.

also, one thing that I think a few people wanted to do last season but never really worked is regular FFC mocks with a few 2+2 in them - if people list when is good for them we can look to when's best for most people and have a regular, say, 2 hour slot where we crank a few out. I'm on loleuro time so good most days until ~7 est, maybe 9 on weekends

Auctions are going to be a blast this year. I have to cut down how many leagues I'm in for time saving purposes, but I'm really looking forward to my 1-2 auction leagues. I feel like there's going to be a ton of disparity in values on everyone's boards.

I prefer auctions for my "home/office" leagues, since tey are more fun. However, in yahoo pro leagues, auction players are better than snake draft players. Doing the Snakes in YPLs is much easier way to make money.

So many people will draft their starting lineups, including K and D before getting a 3rd RB or a 4th WR. It's funny and awesome.

I think in one of my $50 ones last year, there were 4 Ds off the board in the first 6 rounds.

this is probably true to some extent but there is still plenty of room to make money in auctions... you also have to remember that auctions are more skill intensive. so if you do have an edge, its magnified.

Also I had someone pay $28 for Falcons WR Julian Jones last year, no not Julio Jones, their like 6th string WR Julian Jones.

i think in general home/office/less competitive leagues have only just started migrating over to auctions in the last year or so, so those of us who have done them a few years now will have an edge. although i would think that within 2-3 years most people will be used to auctions, and if i had to guess, id say 4-5 years auctions will be the norm.

I had heard about the trick prior to my first auction luckily, but I didn't have the balls to nominate him and then get stuck with him even though it really isn't a big deal to lose $1

No big deal whatsoever unless your league charges transaction fees. You need to cut someone for a kicker anyway so it fills a role

How many leagues is too many? Thinking about doing 5 this year, all YPLs, in addition to DFS. Thoughts?

Yahoo skipped pro leagues for basketball and baseball since they're developing their DFS product.

Saw this on Twitter so I guess something is planned:

This is an age old question. I find my optimal balance is 4-5. Last year I was in 7 and that was just too many. 2-3 and I get bored.

Yeah I was thinking 5+ might be a little overboard. Thanks for your feedback.

It depends, of course.

I did 17 last year, but only because I use the FBG software, so I can easily look through all my rosters/leagues each week. I'd never do that many manually.

Even with that, I'm aiming to reduce that to 10-12 this year, but it's hard once you get in the drafting groove.

Wow, 17!? Probably could handle that but I'm definitely going to look into that software.
