weren't the first 4 all already hurt before the vast majority of fantasy drafts took place? If you drafted an already injured player, thats your own fault.

Dez was the only one on your list who wasnt injured in the pre-season and could conceivably have ruined anyones fantasy season. The other were all drafted much later and werent even part of the early draft conversation.

Here are the Yahoo ADP's:
Edelman - #53
DJax - #49
Keenan - #55
Smith - 94
Hurns - LOL cant even find an ADp on him, went undrafted lots
those are all 5th rounders and later (much later in some cases!)

Now compare your LOL list to these guys who were all real 1st/2nd rounders:
Charles - ouch
Leveon - ouch
Lynch - ouch
Lacy - garbage
CJ - garbage
Hill - garbage
Demarco - garbage
Forte - ouch + garbage
Shady - ouch + garbage
Forsett - ouch

Basically unless you drafted AP, any other RB taken in the first 2 rounds was complete trash and/or got injured.

Still want to defend taking RB's early over WR's?

Indeed, it was a bad year for rbs. Luckily, everyone else had the same problems as we did. So no real advantage there.

If you look at only one season the variance is way too high to get any real trends. Although I agree with some of what has been said next season could equally be an aids-year for WRs.

Wait, you're going garbage list?

Megatron, Evans most of the year, Cobb, Hilton, Jordan Matthews, Watkins, Jeffrey, VJax, AJ, Devante Adams etc...

A lot of disappointing top end talent in there...

Drafting a WR in the 1st two rounds has been the correct move for years.

I'm not even disagreeing with that for the record. I'm just saying "lol that WR's haven't been hit by injuries and disappointment". Tons of them have.

If you went Jeffrey/Evans/X this year like a team I had, your butt got blown up. I'd even argue that if you were lucky enough to do Julio/Jeffrey somehow, your butt is probably hurt.

Evans was a 3rd rounder for one (I got him twice - in the 4th and 5th rounds), so not as devastating as losing a 1st/2nd round RB. and for two, both Jefferey and Evans were both already hurt before drafts happened. Drafting them was a bad idea from the beginning simply for that reason. I already mentioned that fwiw.

Anyway, the point of my post was that you were trying to argue against 1st/2nd rd WR picks by naming a bunch of WRs who drafted way way later and/or already hurt before fantasy drafts.

I'm thinking of going TE next year, have anyone in mind not named Gronk?

Dez/Hilton probably has your butt real hurt. I'm sure Julio/Dez on the turn has people sitting with their dicks in their hands.

The difference is that every RB he listed was gone by like the early 3rd at the worst. You listed a bunch of 4th-5th round talent. Look at preseason top 10 lists of each position and then tell me it's the same

I'm usually always RB or QB or back to back RB's in the 1st round, this year I took WR (even in a non-ppr lg) with the 10th pick and then took a RB. Sadly Dez was hurt and did not when he did play & Jeremy Hill was awful this year for me.

Bottom line is most of the 1st-3rd rounds has wildly underperformed and several of them have just been complete busts due to ineffectiveness or injury....it wasn't that RB/WR dependent. I mean who has either met or outperformed expectation in the first 3 rounds of ADP....the only guys I can think of are Peterson, Antonio Brown, DHop, Odell, and Gronk? Maybe Ingram before he got hurt? I'm sure I'm missing some but it's just a massive fail rate.

Edit: Ok so Julio too. Maybe a bit more RB bust heavy.

Ya this. It's slightly skewed, and even then Gronk let you down right when you needed him in the stretch. ODB won't be there for you in the finals, will AP? Antonio had that 4 game stretch where he was dog food with Rape out (and I rubbed $ on my tits). It was hard to count on anyone the way they can be counted on some years.

If you get a stud RB in R1 there is nothing stopping you getting a 9th on his backup, in particular teams that never RBBC.

Bell/Williams
Charles/West
Lynch/Rawls
Forte/Langford

Has been pretty winnebago this year. Keeping a great backup in non RBBC is so much more valuable than a WR6

If Jordan Reed somehow propels me to a fantasy championship I am absolutely buying a jersey. That is all.

Only one of the four you listed was the obvious handcuff before week 1

And you had to pay more than handcuff value to get that player.

I think these guys think that they are chatting in some sort of pm system not on league message board. I just beat the first team in semis and am facing purple guy in championship. First guy dropped Forte, Gates, Rivers and Djax. Guy I'm facing has waiver priority over me and in need of every position except maybe QB.

My first thought was this is bull**** and shouldn't be allowed, combined with the fact the team who dropped everyone is ran by the commissioner and pretty good friends with guy I'm facing. What's my play if any?

lmao at teams not being locked once they are eliminated.
even more lol at the commissioner openly colliding.

wtf is wrong with people.

Lol at being good friends with anyone dumb enough to think that is ok

Your play is to obviously say they cannot do that and then cut them out of your life completely after next Monday night. As rbk said lol at not being locked.
