A little early but why the hell not.

1) Standard 5x5 - AVG R HR RBI SB .. ERA WHIP W K SV
2) Rosters - 2C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, 5OF, UT, 9P
3) Eligibility - 20 games at the position last year, or the consensus position for rookies and new international players

I was thinking we just do it in-thread and track it here. I can update it as we go, I think I made it a public document but not 100% sure.

I'd be interested as I mentioned in the year long thread, but why not just create a "fake" league on yahoo or espn and schedule a live "mock" draft?

Seems much easier to me and less work for everyone.

Dont - I guess that's an option if we can all agree on a date and time to do it. I'd be happy to set one up. What works for everyone?

I think doing a slower mock may be more realistic for everyone, time wise. This way we don't have to waste time trying to agree on a date/time. Also having a slower draft leaves more room for discussion and analysis etc.

With that said, Im down for whatever.

Yeah, when I told Gary I was in I was thinking something slower paced meant to get discussion going. Kind of a tool to find leaks in where your head is at before the season begins. A normal mock certainly has value, but it's not really what I interpreted Gary's post as.

If it's a normal mock I'd still be down if I was available, but that'd be harder to find time for right now I think and wouldn't mind if someone took my spot in that case.

I prefer a long draft as well, I'd rather get solid in draft analysis as opposed to getting laughed at after a regular draft.

well, i wont be a complete fish. im messing around with trying to create a ranking system for roto using projections i can find online. my picks are gonna be mostly analytical based on what i create (if i can figure out something i like - not having any luck really). but, i dont have much experience in a roto league so im hoping to use this as a way to learn

It seems like you can set up custom drafts with 24 hour turn maximum. This would be ideal because it cant continue running overnight etc and we should be able to do the draft in the same time frame that it would take to do it ITT, with the benefit of having a website interface to track everything.

We'll just stick to the in-thread. CM is nice too but trying to spark some discussion. We'll try to get at least 1 more (although I'm fine with 14-15 teams too) and aim to start later this week.

I haven't done in-thread before. Will we have some benchmark ADP ranking that we copy and paste with each pick? So there's no confusion about who has and hasn't been taken. And maybe with each pick you post your updated roster, with the round of pick next to the player?

Eg

OF 6 Heyward

Are that many people doing 2 catcher leagues? I'm personally not doing any(maybe 1 NFBC), but if the consensus is to mock that way, that's fine. We just need everyone to mock that way for the draft to be genuine.
