I agree with this. It's probably Feliz's job to lose at this point, and I don't really see him doing that.

Whats up with Ron Washington? Why not just say Feliz is the closer instead of this temporary crap?

Its probably premature but I may need to call the young buck up...

perry >>>>>>>>>>>>> zumaya as a handcuff, but valverde's going to have to get hurt before leyland shakes things up

perry's stuff looks much better than it did last year imo
Leyland is much more loyal to closers than the typical MLB manager. It will take a complete meltdown for Valverde to lose the job. But yeah, Perry > Zoom Zoom as the handcuff

This is pretty standard, no?

Very rarely do they just "fire" the closers, because they worry about their psyche or whatever. They bring in the new kid, and if he does well, they just never mention it again. If the new guy fails, then they bring the closer back in and say something about how they worked on their mechanics, or have been pitching much better, or always had full confidence, etc.

In the spirit of this thread, Trevor Hoffman just blew his second save.

Is it too early to worry about Hoffman's job?

He also had a bad spring.

But they have freaking nobody in that bullpen.

LaTroy is dealing and has closed before.

Anybody pinning their hopes on LaToya in high leverage situations is going to be sorely disappointed.

Yea I understand what youre saying, but this is a slightly different case imo when such a highly touted prospect like Feliz is involved.

Jason Frasor just blew a one run lead in the 9th against the White Sox. Frasor has settled down since Opening Day but Gregg has been lights out so far. I'm not saying Frasor gets replaced after tonight, but he probably doesn't have much rope left.

Sorry, I wasn't implying that he would lose the job, just throwing out there that Saito is a helluva arm to have and might get some opps.
