- Predict Champions League scores by simply entering a score prediction for each game. Points are awarded for correct outcomes, winning margins and scorelines. Basically you'll score more points the closer you are to the actual score.

- The competition will run from the first Group Stage games on 16 Sep 2014, to the Champions League Final on 6 June 2015.

- Points are awarded as follows:
Correct Outcome = +10pts
Incorrect Outcome = -10pts
Correct Margin = +5pts
Correct Scoreline = +15pts

So for example, if we predict Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid:
If it finishes 3-0, we get 10pts
If it finishes 1-1, we get -10pts
If it finishes 3-2, we get 15pts
If it finishes 1-0, we get 30pts

The more observant among you may notice that in the case of a draw, a correct outcome will also be a correct margin. So predicting 2-2 for a game that finishes 0-0 would score you 15pts.

- Each player has 10 Banker options. Playing a Banker doubles your points for that match. To play your Banker, simply enter Y in the Banker column.

- Each player also has 10 Insurance options. Playing Insurance means you will score 0 rather than -10 for an incorrect outcome.

- The Banker and Insurance options may each be used up to 10 times each throughout the entire competition. There are a total of 157 games, so use them wisely! You may not use both Banker and Insurance on the same match. If you do, both will be ignored.

- Each entrant will have their own private Google Document on which to enter their selections. It is the responsibility of each player to enter their selections before the relevant deadline. If any deadlines pass without a selection having been entered, the blank picks will be entered as 0-0 draws.

- The deadline for selections is 5pm UK time on match days. At this time, all selections will be copied to the Master Sheet and no further changes will be accepted.

- In the Knockout stages, extra time and penalties will be ignored for scoring purposes.

- $10 entry, Winner Takes All if less than 20 runners. If more than 20, we'll split it 70-30. If we somehow get over 50, let's say 60-30-10. But it's essentially just for bragging rights anyway, so if you want to play for free you're welcome to. Of course free players will not win any money.

- Regular SE posters only please, unless you're playing the freeroll version in which case everyone is welcome and strangers/lurkers are encouraged to join in. You don't have to be a soccerball thread reg to take our money, but you should be an active SE poster. USA#1 sports posters are especially welcome to donate! But if you have to ask whether you're welcome to play for money, chances are you're not.

- Avoid missing deadlines by making "placeholder" selections for every game in advance. Your selections will only be made public once the deadline passes, and you can edit them as many times as you want until then.

- Google Sheets has an annoying habit of shading out areas that cannot be edited, in such a way as to make them difficult to view. If you wish to remove the shading, select "Protected Ranges" from the "View" menu. Of course you'll still only be able to edit the Predictions, Banker and Insurance columns.

- You can also select "Full Screen" from the View menu to remove the (redundant) editing tools. Or just hold CTRL and press + or - to zoom in or out.

- Bookmark your personal entry sheet once you receive it, and also the Master Sheet on which all predictions and points will be displayed as each deadline passes.

- All predictions must be entered by 5pm UK Time on the day of the match. However, there's a good chance that I'll either forget or be otherwise unable to always remove everyone's editing privileges at that exact time. Any changes made after the deadline will be ignored, and anyone attempting to cheat by changing their predictions after kickoff will be roundly condemned and subject to resentment and scorn. A full audit of all changes made by every player is available to me if I need it!
