When an avg reg open/call 3b, let's say UTGvsCO (we 3b linear range ~8-9%), are we better off using a mixed cbet strat even on a very dry flop since UTG's range contains very few offsuit combos (unlike from late position defend) therefore using a 33% sizing for our whole range will not yield the best result?

Typically most people are overdefending vs 3bs when they are oop creating a situation in which they overfold most flops

wow that's really surprising, but i'm guessing your assumption is based from your main game (mid-high stakes) right? anyway, point taken that vs overdefending regs 33% on select flops is higher EV.

but since my main game is still at the micros (50nl & below), and my general read for UTG/HJ defending range vs IP 3b is tighter, am I right to adopt a mixed strat until I have a solid read that they do overdefend?

If you're using HEM you might want to make some aliases of high-volume and/or winning players, so you can confirm or re-evaluate your read.

In my database of microstakes villains, I made a few aliases (e.g. 10 biggest winners, 10 highest volume winners), and their "fold to 3-bet" percentages when UTG and MP are surprisingly low. In the micros at least, I think people call 3-bets when they are OOP more often than they should.

i'm using PT4, that's a good tip, i'll do that.

well if that's the case (that pop call 3b wider than they should OOP), then high freq cbet strat will yield the best result on certain flops.

thanks for the feedback guys
