Playing at MGM, $1/2 No limit. We're about 1 hour in from a new table, and I can see that most of these players are terrible. I've been playing pretty tight, just waiting to double up from one of these guys. I have about $140 in front of me.

I get 4 4 in EP- so I smoothcall $2. Everyone folds, and the button raises to $7 straight, BB calls, and I call. Pot = $22, and there are 3 players.

The guy on the button has been playing OK, compared to everyone else at the table- but he's still pretty bad. He overplays his top pairs on the flop (even middle pair once), but has yet to be punished for it.

Flop comes A A 7 rainbow. First to act, I put a feeler bet of $7 (maybe I should have check/folded?). Button man smooth calls the $7, and BB folds. Button definitely has an ace, no question- I'm finished with this hand. Turn comes 2, I check and button checks behind me. Pot = $ 36

River is a 4, board is A A 7 2 4, with no possible flush and I've made my fullhouse on the river. I bet out $30, button min raises to $60. So now I have a decision- Do I smooth call in case he has a made fullhouse, or do I reraise all-in, knowing he'll call with any ace (and more than likely he has an ace with a kicker other than the 2, 7, or 4)

Pot is: $126. I've invested $44, and now I have $96 left. There's no way I'm folding here, so it'll be $30 to me, leaving me with $60.

Do you push or just call, and save the $60 in case he made a boat? I personally put him on A K - A 10, and figured he was slowplaying his trips to death.

Your flop betsizing is terrible.. your lowpair is close to worthless on a board like this.. anyone that calls your bet has you crushed(7 or A) and worse yet, you won't know what they have from a smoothcall(are they on a chase? just using position to maybe blow you off on the turn? or they got an Ace? 7?), but you have to act first OOP on the turn.

You should've been finished with this hand on the flop, or if you want to take it down, make it 2/3 pot at least. The rest of the hand is totally irrelevant, including your river suckout boat.

PS your river thinking is also terrible sir.. there's no play other than shoving.

A mistaken bet on the flop costs me only $7- not a brilliant play, but one that is easily recoverable. I totally disagree that there's no play other than shoving- I could smooth call with chips to spare. If the play had been from a much better player, a smoothcall would have been a no brainer in my opinion (especially if I was deeper stacked)

no, this river is an easy shove. if he has u beat then its just sick but dont be results orientated. most of the time he will have AK and u will bust him. im guessing he had a higher boat in the end, but thats just ONE hand of many he could have had and u were ahead of the majority of his range.
