Position is 20th with 32 left in large MTT.

Player 1 2nd to act holds 8h8s 68,000 in chips

Player 2 holds ?? 187,000 in chips.

Blinds 2000/4000

Both players call.

Flop Ad 4d 8d

Player 2 bets 20,000

What is the correct way to play this if you are player 1? Are you shoving here?

The best way to play is not to call preflop tbh. However, in this situation it worked out better that you didn't as it happens.

On the flop, it's a simple push. He'll call you with any ace and maybe some mid pockets (figuring you're not limping many if any ax hands, and could also easily be semi bluff shoving)

I see what ur gettin at but it doesnt help him any more than if he had raised PF. by raising PF its much easier to get more money in on later streets, but it didnt work out 'better' because he didnt raise.

next time raise PF

as played push.

Not a very complicated play:

1. Push it....

2. Put forth a bet that will induce a reraise then push....

depends on your villian
