Spread-Limit Splash Pots Spread-Limit Splash Pots

I'm not sure if this is the right forum. Since this involves a very unusual hold'em situation, I thought Poker Theory might be the best place for it.

I've started playing $5-150 spread limit hold'em at Casino Arizona (I guess you guys abbreviate that CAZ). Occasionally, pots are randomly "splashed" as a promotion. When this happens, $100 of dead money is introduced to the pot. I was wondering what would be correct strategy in a splash pot.

Skip this paragraph is you already know what $5-150 hold'em is and what a $100 splash pot is. In Arizona, no-limit is not legal, so this serves as kind of a replacement. When it's your turn to act, you're allowed to bet/raise between $5-150 (and obviously a raise must be at minimum the size of the previous bet/raise). The blinds are $3 and $5. The minimum buy-in is $100, and the maximum is $350, although stacks significantly larger than $350 are not unusual. In the case of a splashed pot, there is $100 of dead money at the center that is awarded to the winner.

Today, I was dealt KTo under the gun. With the extra $100 in the pot, I was certainly getting the odds to limp, but I ended up folding since I felt like there was a really good chance that someone would raise behind me and force me out of the pot, plus I'm highly unlikely to flop a hand that I'm willing to get felted with while holding KTo (I had about $350 in front of me at the time in case that's significant to your answers). Sure enough, the guy to my immediate left raised $110 and forced everyone else to fold. He ended up having QQ.

I wondered if this play was too weak-tight. Sure, many times I'm going to be raised out of the pot, but often, nobody is going to have a hand that they're going to feel comfortable raising with, and I'll get a juicy pot if the flop hits me right. But I'm also interested in more than just this specific hand. In general, what do you guys think would be correct strategy in these splash pot situations?
