NLH Button Play NLH Button Play

I recently have wondered if there is any information out there that approaches NLH strategy and theory by position? I am most interested in learning more about button play specifically. I spent a little time looking around the forum looking for posts addressing the button specifically and have not come across any yet. My play in general is fairly weak, and I figured that, as the strongest position in the game, I would try to look for ways to better approach playing on the button.

This idea came to me as a day dream, imagining how great it would be if I could simply fold every hand except my button and still manage that 10bb-20bb/100 win rate that seems to be the standard for a healthy win rate. The math is simple enough, win 2.5bb every button, every orbit, minus the 1.5bb in folded blinds, and you have 10bb after 10 orbits, which is basically, 10bb/100. 2.5bb every orbit doesn't sound to bad. One +25bb pot every 10 orbits does not sound like that large of a pot either.

If it were only this simple...we'd all be rich poker players! I hope you get the idea though.

What kinds of EV can you expect from just the button and what sorts of maths, analysis, and the like, would you go through to maximize the EV in just this spot?

Obviously how anyone approaches the button depends heavily on the other players in the game and varies between stakes, tournaments, and phases within a tournament, but if there are ideas on how to approach the button, I'd be very interested.

If there are relevant posts already out there, I'd like to read them. If there isn't I'd be curious to hear why that might be the case. Otherwise, I would love to start up a discussion here and hopefully have it grow into something useful.

Additionally, I would love to hear all of your thoughts and ideas about button strategy, regardless of the stakes play at or number of players you play with.

Also, as an aside, if all goes as I hope, I will try to post frequently. Please also include tips and suggestions for a stronger posting.
