Lately, both in the rare times I get to play, and playing rvr I’ve taken to checking my full range otf when I’ve defended from the blinds (being BB vs SB being the exception.) I just can’t think of a reason, being the preflop caller and oop to lead.

Is this approach theoretically sound or am I missing opportunities?

Before anyone comes with the right answer I would like to ask you personally what led you to decide that

Honestly, probably an over simplification of concepts I’ve seen and heard. But the more I have thought about it, most boards favor the IP raisers range. Very rare flops such as 789 two tone might favor the oop caller.

I think, if I’m honest, I check 100% because it’s easier than balancing a leading range. But, and I know “feelings don’t matter” it feels right, intuitively.

It is right

Your bottom of range is far behind villains, and your top of range would rather check raise or check call since the PFR is going to be betting more often than he's calling your lead, given how relatively weak your range is and how thin he can "value" bet and therefor bluff.

Basically, your strong hands make more money by checking and your weak hands can't do **** anyway.

This is with the exception of those low connected boards in which the PFC often has some kind of advantage in straights and two pairs

a simple strategy with same result as an overcomplited strategy is 10x better

Thank you both. It’s nice to know I’m getting some things right.
