C-betting small on dry Axx boards to get cheap folds or betting big because of nut advantage?

Suddenly I realized I have two oppositional heuristics in my mind regarding c-bet sizing.
On the one hand, the preflop aggressor has the nut advantage on dry Axx boards and therefore should bet big.
On the other hand, we should bet small because we know that our opponent doesn't connect well with this board, and therefore will fold often, even against small sizings.
My question is therefore;
How does the logic for c-betting small on dry A-high boards connects to the logic of betting big when we have the nut advantage?

Sorry, had some tunnel vision there!
I was looking at BU vs BB single-raised pot.

Generally A-high boards lose the most EV if we were to just rangebet simply due to our range advantage hence you will see a mixed strategy of small bets and checks on dry Ace-high boards and very large (pot or overbet sizes) on boards that completely smash BTN like AK2r, AJ3s etc.
Think about it this way: you might think that AK prefers to bet large on a dry Ace-high board but can you go for 3 streets anyways unimproved? very often thats not the case.
