So I was thinking about how the post flop tendencies of your opponent affect your ability to open hands profitable. One of the ideas that I had was that if your opponent is not check raising enough from the big blind, then you should be able to open wider, from the BTN because it allows you to over realize the equity of your marginal hands, and in some situations can cap the range of your opponent's when they just call.

Hands like suited aces could definitely benefit from this because of their ability dominate draws, also marginal off suit face cards, like K6o, seem to be a bit more profitable, because you can pot control a lot more effectively, with less worry of being forced of your hands, realizing their showdown value and maybe even betting for thin value in certain stops. When your opponent is aggressive then you can over fold. I feel like this strategy would work really well in anonymous games, or when your opponent doesn't adjust well.

Is this train of thought logical, or am I missing something?

It's logical, but sort of difficult to evaluate.
