RPM VIP Program Alone or Rakeback? RPM VIP Program Alone or Rakeback?

04-07-2010 , 06:20 PM
I have heard that, as VIP programs become more attractive and competitive with rakeback programs, at some sites it is actually more beneficial to NOT have rakeback. Unfortunately, I just don't yet get all the math involved here. I do know that many if not most of the VIP programs out there do not benefit rakeback players as much as the rakeback player may only be allowed a certain percentage of VIP bonuses or perhaps they will only earn points at a reduced pace. So, I am curious...

...do you guys think that it would be better to have RPM rakeback or just focus on the RPM VIP program?

Any thoughts, justifications, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If I recall correctly from what I read in past searches, the top tier in the VIP program is actually a little better than rakeback plus 70% VIP (that I believe rakeback players receive). However, you have to rake some amount that is greater than 20k in order to reach it. I could be terribly, terribly wrong here so you'll want to do your own research.

In my opinion, given that VIP programs are always subject to change and rakeback isn't, and that you can't be certain you'll want to (or be able to) play on this site forever, I'd take the safe bet and go with the rakeback. RPM Seth can hook you up if you send him a PM.

Just my random thoughts, though.

Thanks Orick! I appreciate the response. I am leaning toward rakeback also. I think that's what I'll do. I managed to screw up virtually all of my poker site sign-ups back when I thought cash bonuses had to be cool deals and so I have very few rakeback options left anymore.

OK. Well, I will prolly get in touch with Seth soon.

Thanks!

You're welcome. I screwed myself out of Full Tilt rakeback, so I feel your pain.

btw as a rb-player, do I have any advantage from climbing up the ladder in the VIP system?

Nope. Not that I am aware of. Other than using the points you earn can be used for tourney buy-ins. But climbing the ladder means nothing b/c you cant reap any of those cash rewards.

At the top level of the VIP system, you can get extra cash back even if you're a rakeback player.

Plus, it doesn't hurt to accumulate points for when we launch a VIP rewards store!

Ok, might take some time, 'til I have paid the 33k$ in rake for Overdrive, but RB is good and opponents are bad, so what
