Really it works fine from a rating perspective. It's just annoying that I don't get to have a record of the game, since the pgns aren't available. I go through and edit all the game data I have to make sure that every game played by any one 2p2 screenname is listed in my database as being played by the same person though. And I can create blank games that are adjudicated for the winner without any moves to fill in the gaps where I don't have pgns.

There's nothing wrong with playing as a guest (or playing somewhere other than FICS, as long as the time controls are right and both players agree) except that I can't save a record of the actual moves of the game in my database.

Confirmed. Luckboxed the first game, but was more comfortable in the others. Mclovin outplayed me in at least 2 games, but spewed a couple of good positions.

FWIW, my ratings are based exclusively off of games that are actually played (so I'll just add a 3-0 win to the database). Forfeited/Bye games earn points within the tournament standings, but are ignored for the broader rankings.

Bleh, sorry, I guess I should quit. I can't seem to manage being AEST, working through the day and scheduling a chess game.

I was out of the tournament in the first round, was only able to complete one game. Not sure why I'm still listed here, because I don't have an account, and Don said that was a requirement.

I did try to hook up with EEEJay, but didn't get a response about when we could play. It was more a matter of trying to figure out whether I was still in or not, kind of confusing.
