My guess is mating nets as I am bad at closing the game, which no doubt is pretty important to winning!
As for tactics, try ChessTempo - its problems are less predictable than those of chess.com where there are too many queen sacs
The fact that you're bad at closing the game means that you need to focus on the endgame - far not all of your games will allow for a successful mating attack, and you should be able to convert a material advantage into a pawn promotion without spending too much clock time, which (incl. timely piece trades when you're ahead in material) is often easier than finding a direct mate in the middlegame.
In master-level blitz games on Youtube, most people resign in the middlegame if they're down a piece, but that's because they trust that their opponents know how to convert the extra piece into a win as both are rated high enough; but low-rated opponents will usually refuse to resign early and will test your endgame ability trying to flag you.
