If there is a 3 way tie you could just have a playoff between 2 of them, and winner plays the 3rd guy. Decided THOSE seeding using the silly tiebreaks, it wouldn't be that hard.

I have no idea what Gelfand is doing. He spends most all his timebank on a single move then takes a forced line that seems just terrible for him? It looks like he's going to lose pretty quickly now. If Carlsen can't create a win then the event is practically over. On the other hand this event has definitely shown time and again that it ain't over til it's over.

Thought 41...nf2 would force a draw for gelfand, nc5 looks a lot riskier

We're at move 71 and this looks won for Carlsen to me, but I have no real clue and am not near an engine.

Houdini has it as -.17 but I'm sure Carlsen will grind it out

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.

Now I need to get out of my plans for tomorrow because holy ****.

Also before the haters start. Yes TR lost a drawn position, that's how chess works. Mind blowing pressure from MC to force an error.

The fanboys can calm down, Carlsen is now firmly in the driver's seat, thanks to that idiotic tiebreak. I think it will be truly tragic if that tiebreaker decides it either way.

I dunno about "firmly in the driver's seat" since Ivanchuk is probably losing on time 85% of the time tomorrow.

Is that true? Kramnik is more likely to win his last game than Carlsen, no? Can someone explain what the range of remaining outcomes is?
