Noir_Desir beat me 3.5 to .5, lucked out to get a draw after he disconnected in the first game. I haven't figured out how to post the games from fics, but they probably won't help much anyways since it's lots of blunders by me. First time playing not-chess titans and people are trickier than the computer.

Hopfully playing ganstaman in the next few hours. If not, it's unlikely to go ahead. We've both been busy this week.

Yes, a messy but fun match.

Game 1: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...11;action=show
I blunder away a knight, but some time later he gives it back for a draw.
1/2-1/2

Game 2: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...89;action=show
A weird line in the Philidor, white's king does not find safety on the queenside.
0-1

Game 3: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...84;action=show
I blunder again, but get the feeling that I was almost let back into the game before I was completely crushed and proven wrong.
0-1

Game 4: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...41;action=show
White's king gets surrounded in the center.
0-1

In my last match, black also won 3 of the games. Is it maybe superior??

You can play *IF* you can convince someone else to also sign up late along with you, and you and him can complete a match before the midnight Sunday deadline. In that case, I'll give 1/2-1/2 byes to both of you for round 1, retroactively pair you for round 2, take the result of your match, and integrate you into the (still even-numbered) field when I put together round 3 pairings. If you can't find a second taker to join up with you, though, I'll have to say "wait until next time".
Looks like I'm not gonna make it. Appreciate the offer. Hopefully I'll get in on the next one.

HipHopRTR v mt_david is a 0-0 forfeit as I never heard any reason from either of them why their match was not played.

Gorgonian v Pawntificator is a 1/2-1/2 forfeit, as both players took responsibility for the match not taking place. Gorgonian will now be withdrawing from the tournament.

Therefore here are the standings after two rounds:
Code:
Player Score
Nikachu 2
ganstaman	2
Noir_Desir	1.5
HipHopRTR	1
Punker 1
Tomukas 1
Cadaz 1
pawntificator	0.5
Velocity	0.5
mt_david	0.5
Gorgonian	0.5
chocaholic	0
And here are the Round 3 Pairings:
Nikachu v ganstaman
Noir_Desir v HipHopRTR
Punker v Tomukas
Cadaz v pawntificator
Velocity v mt_david
chocaholic 1-0 Bye

Knew I forgot to do something ... oh well ...

At least this week PMs have already been exchanged, so a match is likely.

I think I really need to work on my endgame technique with <1 minute left on the clock ...

me too, for example 56. g4 in game 1 is lolbad on so many levels..."no i don't want to create a passed pawn!"

and i need a better defence to the BDG.

You just got tilt, especially after a 2nd game where I blundered the pawn, but you wanted to finish it too straight forward. And of course, missing the dead draw later on. To be fair I should be very happy just to tie the match if all of them would be played with cool nerves.

I guess I'm out. I can't make an appointment for the life of me. I wish my anglican opponent luck in the rest of the match.

Nikachu 4, me 0. I never stood a chance here.

Game 1: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...67;action=show

One of the ugliest French bishops I think I've ever had, and no tricks to pull in a pawn-down endgame.

Game 2: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...24;action=show

I get into another pawn-down endgame, and again there's no tricks to try to pull. Normally I can find some sort of silly trap!

Game 3: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...89;action=show

We almost repeat at move 23, but that would seal the match for Nikachu, so I instead go for something else, which surprisingly didn't seem too bad. But then I'm lost. He blunders away the win (would likely have been drawn) on the last move before I watch my last 6 seconds run down.

Game 4: http://www.ficsgames.com/cgi-bin/sho...64;action=show

Things seem ok until oooops, down two pawns. But there's an attack for me still! Oh wait, no, it's gone. And then the queens go too. And the game.

For forfeits this round I have Cadaz 1-0 over Pawntificator and Velocity 1-0 over mt_david. This is mt_david's second no-show forfeit so he is out of the tourney. The standings after round three are thus:

Code:
Player Score
Nikachu 3
Noir_Desir	2.5
Tomukas 2
ganstaman	2
Cadaz 2
Velocity	1.5
HipHopRTR	1
Punker 1
chocaholic	1
pawntificator	0.5
And our pairings for the final round are:
Round 4 Pairings:
Nikachu v Noir_Desir
Tomukas v Cadaz
ganstaman v Velocity
HipHopRTR v Punker
chocaholic v pawntificator

Good luck to everyone!
