So I've been playing super low-stakes BG for years on Play65, typically $1/point games or $1 7pt matches, etc. Was never expecting to get rich by it, but it was fun and I am a winning player at that stake.
But this morning, I was FORCED into a 21 point match for $72.48!!
Here's what happened:
I logged in and did my usual thing-- created a 7 point match at a $0.98 stake. I then began to create a second new game, a 1-point match at a $0.98 stake with a maximum limit of $7.84. (Typically I will create both and take the first that attracts interest from an equally-matched opponent.)
I finilized the details of the second match and moved my mouse to the green check mark and clicked. As I was clicking, another window popped up at the exact same moment-- literally the same instant I was clicking to create my game. Because the green check box of the new window was aligned with the green check box of the window I was creating, it was clicked instead.
And so the first match I created-- which I had proposed to be a 7pt match for $0.98-- became a 21 point match for $72.48. My entire account balance actually!
Because I had not agreed to and did not want to play a $72.48 stake match, I just allowed the game to time out. I ended up getting $45.41 back in the "Automatic Game Resolution", but still out $27.07. As this is all money that I've built up slowly from a $20 deposit, that's a pretty big loss of my time and energy!
But of course, it's not really about the 2 movies I now can't see, but the principle itself. Having an accept button pop up suddenly under something else that you were clicking on, and thereby clicking on it without really having any chance to review the game, is a terrible, terrible software glitch.
Moreover, I'm reasonably certain this guy was looking to exploit it. Obviously anyone who changes a stake from $0.98 to $72.48 is looking to catch someone unawares, since no one trying to play a $0.98 game is actually going to want to play for $72.48.
The 21 points I'm assuming was to give his bot the best chance of winning; don't know for sure it was a bot though, as I didn't actually play the match. Still glad I timed out though, rather than trying to beat him.
Maybe I'm just an idiot for playing for real money online, and should just go back to free one BG and face-to-face. Feel free to tell me so if that's the case

I feel kinda conned (both by the site and by this particular player) but I'm not really sure what I can do about it.
I'm asking play65 for the money back. Given the high level customer service that the online gambling industry is known for, I am sure they will do the right thing.
Anyway, just wanted to put some feelers out there as to whether anyone else has had a similar experience.
