Can someone please explain the graph that GNU backgammon gives in the match statistics? I can't figure out what it is plotting.

Also, a minor brag: I accomplished an amazing feat the other night. I played a match to 17 points. At the end I checked the statistics and GNU rated me "Supernatural", not one checker error, or wrong cube decision! What are the odds of such a fluke? I'm not terrible, but GNU kicks my ass on a regular basis and I usually get rated "casual player", or maybe "intermediate". Better to be king for a day than schmuck for a lifetime, eh?

Hi,

gnu is plotting your checker errors and cube errors. Here it doesnt use the snowie error, but the summed loss of equity per game.

about your supernatural bragging:

I looked at a game from 1973 from dwek against cooke, both rating casual according to a 3-ply gnu analysis. 2 out of 8 games of dwek were supernatural. Also in another game were i scored casual i had 4 out of 17 supernaturals. The odds of all games being supernatural when the chance is 25% of it happening once is 25% ^ # games. When your match for example lasts 10 games the chance of you being supernatural is 1 out of a million,

but when it only lasts 5 games the chance is: 1 out of 1000.

So it is something to brag about (unless it was a very short match in terms of games),

Thanks for the help with the graph. My supernatural run was 13 games. I haven't come anywhere close to doing that again.

i want to ask a question about gnu software even not related to topic.

what is the gnu's percentage of success @real money bg games.or espically in high limit games to regulars or bg pros.

gnu(highest level of course) is beatable by pros?

Hi,

as far as i understand gnu as well as snowie is better than the best humans, there are a few area's where the pro's might have an edge for example in backgames and in containment games, but it seems Snowie 4 is already better in backgames too,
