Why no HC threads? Why no HC threads?

08-31-2011 , 09:00 PM
I have been getting quite a few complaints lately about this poster or that poster trolling threads and about threads being derailed. I cannot help but wonder why no one has utilized the HC thread format. It is there as a safe haven from threads being derailed and from posters that are only here to cause trouble.

If this is desired (avoiding such issues) then why not utilize the tools at your disposal?

Whatsa...HC thread?

Seriously, what's HC stand for? I always assumed it was 'high content', but never bothered to ask/search.

How does one go about designating it an HC thread? In title?

Because it would be like praying.

It would be talking to ourselves.

It does stand for HC. Take a look at the forum rules (sticky) and it will tell you how to make a HC thread.

If you believe that no one here is capable/wanting to have a HC discussion, then why complain about the low content?

Did I complain about the low content or trolling?

Why are you complaining about the lack of HC threads?

I don't understand. The rules already state this:
Quote:
Derailing of threads will be closely monitored:

RGT has a deep history of great thread derails that turned a bad thread into a great one. But never has that happened by people derailing the thread to treat the forum like their personal blog or general random mocking of public figures or more generally ****ty posts. Posts will be deleted at Mod discretion.
Then HC rules are given. So, derailing of threads is closely monitored, but derailing of HC threads is super-closely monitored?

The new HC threads basically supersedes this. I still reserve the right to delete a post, but non-HC threads are mostly watched for significant insults only. You (the forum) wanted less rules and I gave it to you.

If you are not complaining then you would not apply to the thread, which would only leave the question of why you posted to begin with.

Im not really high content qualified so i wasn't going to post in it. But i was going to start one on whether belief in God or in belief in general is a choice. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested though so i didn't.

I don't know what you mean by "qualified". But I do think that your thread sounds great and it is often a topic around here that I believe there are varying opinions on. If you start that thread, then I will definitely chime in (if that makes a difference or not).
