the christian god that we believe in or do not believe in is a different god in the minds of each individual.

the god that each christian believes is not the same god.

the god that each atheist denies existence is not the same god.

Try this phrase instead:

"God" is a vague and fuzzy term that means different things to different people.

Proof is in the question. We obviously all view everything differently based on how our own personal experiences have influenced us.

However, if things exist outside of our minds, it is not the things that are different; rather, merely our perception of them.

I guess it comes down to whether or not you think concepts (abstract, or non-concrete nouns) exist outside of an individual's mind, or are completly contained within. Either position can be argued. IMO

first two sentences are good

if an atheist denies existence of gods they are generally denying existence of all deistic beings so it doesnt really work

I guess to tell you what I think with precision, I'd have to ask for more precision in the original post.

If you're saying that each individual perceives God in a different way, I wholeheartedly agree.

If you're saying that if God actually exists, that what people believe causes the nature of that deity to change, then I'd disagree.

Put another way, I believe in the existence of an objective reality. I don't think that if one person looks up and says, "wow, the sky is blue!" and someone else says "No, the sky is purple!" that they are seeing two different skies.

So, if you're talking about "God" as part of a social/internal construct, then I agree. If you're talking about "God" with the assumption that God is part of objective reality, then no, I don't.

I question a large category of beings and forces, and deny subcategories thereof. So there is no specific God that I deny, and I don't think this reasoning holds.

This pretty much nails it. Classic opaque context fallacy.
