Oh boy... I know I shouldn't bite on this but I will. I promise to stay respectful and answer your question. I hope you will also.
I had been going through some stuff for the last 3 years or so and in October I finally decided to speak to someone about it. He is a member of the church I go to and someone I respect. Guy worked for NASA and at one point was about to be a top guy there. Basically what I am saying is he is a pretty intelligent guy and level headed. (No, working at NASA doesnt make you the most brilliant or level headed person, just using it as an example) He wanted to pray with me and ask God to "speak" to me. So we prayed about different things when something began to break through. Was it a voice? No. But I started to get images in my mind about a time when I was a kid and my Mom had me call my Dad and basically tell him off (divorced parents). I didn't get it so I prayed some more and asked why the image of my Mom when the problem we were praying about had absolutely nothing to do with her. It was a realtionship problem that I was having trouble with between my wife and I. So I asked and in my heart I felt a burden to call my Mom and tell her that we needed to talk ASAP and that I needed to forgive her for the moment when I was a kid, some other things that happened growing up, and to also help her with her current alcohol problem. So I told the person I was praying with what God "spoke" to me and right at that moment my Mom called me on my phone. My mouth dropped open. Argue coincedence or whatever you may. I answered the phone and said, "Mom we really need to talk, but let me call you right back." I told the guy I was praying with that I needed to go so that I could set something up with my Mom. I was planning on maybe going out to lunch with her the next day. So I called her up and said, "Hey where are you because we need to talk if not today then maybe tomorrow." She said, "Well I'm at your house right now." Again mouth dropped open (
coincedence again I guess). We live in different cities (about 45 minutes apart) and its rare for her to come to my house especially after work.
That is my experience. I have others, but that is the most profound and jaw dropping I can think of. I can already imagine that I will get flamed and that someone is going to have a question about logic or whatever that they want me to answer. I kind of knew what I was stepping in here so bomb away.
