Interesting bible verse to meditate on Genesis 46:31-33:

"Then Joseph said to his brothers and to everyone who had come with them:

"I must go and tell the king that you have arrived from Canaan. I will tell him that you are shepherds and that you have brought your sheep, goats, cattle and everything else you own. The king will call you in and ask what you do for a living. When he does, be sure to say, "We are shepherds. Our families have always raised sheep." If you tell him this, he will let you settle in the region of Goshen.

Joseph wanted them to say this to the king, because the Egyptians did not like to be around anyone who raised sheep." (CEV)

Psalm 103 (KJV)

A Psalm of David.

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 The LORD executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.[a]
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
18 To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.

19 The LORD has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.

20 Bless the LORD, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the LORD, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.

Bless the LORD, O my soul!

From Wiersbe's Chapter by Chapter Bible Commentary on the subject "Renewal":

Just as God renews the face of the earth and brings it new life and beauty (Ps. 104:30), so he can renew your life if you will let Him. It begins with a renewed mind (Rom. 12:1-2) as you permit the Spirit to teach you God's Word (Eph. 4:23; Col. 3:10). Wait before the Lord in worship, and He will renew strength (Isa. 40:31). When you walk by faith, you have a constant experience of renewal in spite of the changes of life (2 Cor. 4:16-18). There is always something new to enjoy when you "walk in newness of life" (Rom. 6:4).

Don't know if we can put a testimony here, but I recently became concerned about someone close to me because of their depression. They seemed suicidal to me, and were exhibiting all of the signs, including telling me that they were "close to the end" and 'giving up on life.'
This person has been suffering from this daily for years.
She was on medication, but this blew up in an episode which left her hospitalized.
There was an incident a few weeks ago where she made an obvious cry for help.

I formed a plan of attack.
Friday night prayer sessions at my church.
Agreement with other believers.
I stood on certain scriptures.
I began the attack on wednesday.
I used the name of Jesus to command that depression to "lift off of her."

I told her NOTHING of what I was doing.

Last night, I called her, and the first thing out of her mouth was: Do you believe in miracles?

She began to feverishly tell me that she has not been depressed FOR TWO DAYS (since wednesday);
that it was like "a cloud of darkness has been lifted off of me."
She cried in joy, telling me she thinks she had "a spiritual experience."
I never had a moment to reply.
Quite frankly, even I was (and am) shocked.
From what I know, there has never been any signs of recovery with her in years.
It was just endless gloom.

She told me she is going to start attending church.

That she can't explain what happened.

Now maybe this is all one great, big coincidence, but I don't think so.

Miracles do happen, and God is good!

Since this is my last post in this pray-ers thread I thought it would be fitting to address what I believe answers all those crazy accusations that people make in the RGT forum's threads against the efficacy of prayer and I believe it's found here in this article "This Evil Generation":

http://www.voiceofonecrying.com/this...generation.htm

Remember this: "God isn’t interested in what we want, He’s interested in who we are."

Another key point:
"God doesn’t act to bless us, He acts to fulfill His will and purpose, which is a blessing to us."

I have some major issues with that posted link.

From scanning the rest of his articles, he is a disaffected ex-member of a "word of faith" church.

Him ascribing demonic activity to almost all modern-day miracles happening in charismatic and faith movements is a very, very, dangerous, and even possibly a salvation-threatening statement.

From reading the blog twice, his claims are based on a 'word of knowledge' he personally received from God, and a "paraphrased" translation of 2 thessalonians.

In fact, he does not quote scripture at all, but simply paraphrases it, so as to justify his conclusions.

I'd be careful about that.

Thankful for existing today! I offer a prayer to the FSM:

Our pasta, who art in a colander, draining be your noodles.
Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum, on top some grated Parmesan.
Give us this day our garlic bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trample on our lawns.
And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us some pizza, for thine is the meatball, the onion, and the bay leaves, forever and ever. R'Amen.
