If it was announced that a government funded lab produced such a being it would be a scandal. If the president could prevent that from becoming public he might just do that.

I woud not kill it....not for political reasons anyways.

Given that we'd get no new (in fact probably less) information from dissecting it that we can't get otherwise, and that we'd obviously hurt the zee in the process of dissection - why would you ever think it'd be morally ok?

I would think that it should be considered a person with the same rights as the rest of us. Given that chimps are 95% human anyway this new life should be considered a person.
