Story Behind the Giant

Human Femur Sculpture
From Joe Taylor

Mr. Jack Wagner sent me the following article in 1996 and asked me to sculpt a human femur the size of the one found in the Middle East. As a guide for this model, I used the femur of one of the Malachite Man females.

(What we know about this find is from a letter by the man who found it.)

The article:

Dear Christian Friends, I was born and lived in the Middle East from 1938 to 1968. I was Ain-Tell and Euphrates water works Engineer and was very interested in archaeology and history and had some very interesting findings, some of which may sound unbelievable. I have brought with me a few silex arrow heads, etc., from the very battle-field where King Nebuchadnezzar and Pharo-Necho’s armies fought. And what about the giants mentioned in Genesis? In south-east Turkey in the Euphrates Valley and in Homs and at Uran-Zohra, tombs of about four meters long once existed, but now roads and other construction work has destroyed the spots. At two places, when unearthed because of construction work, the leg bones were measured about 120 cms. It sounds unbelievable. I have lived with my family at Ain-Tell for more than 14 years at the very spot where King Nebuchadnezzar had his headquarters after the battle of Charcamish, where I dug the graves of kings’ officers and found their skeletons like sponge, and when you touch them they become like white ash, with spears and silex and obsidian tools and ammunition laying by.

(Note this is a model of a bone from the Middle East).

Weird offspring? Makes me think of the centaurs but no way of proving it.

Link excerpt:

Genesis 3:15 (Original KJV):
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. also see Isaiah 7:14

Satan's plan was to occupy Canaan with "his own seed" in advance of Abraham's seed.

As soon as it was made known that the Seed of the woman was to come through ABRAHAM, there must have been another irruption, as recorded in Genesis 6:4 (see above), "and also after that" (that is to say, after the days of Noah, more than 500 years after the first irruption). The aim of the enemy was to occupy Canaan in advance of Abraham, and so to contest its occupation by his seed. For, when Abraham entered Canaan, we read (Genesis 12:6) "the Canaanite was then (that is to say, already) in the land."

Also in Genesis we see two more attempts by Satan to interfere with Abraham's
seed before the birth of Isaac, as told in both Genesis 12:10-20 and in Genesis 20:1-18.

More scripture from link:

The following assaults of the great Satanic Enemy stand out prominently in the Bible:

Abraham's wife Sarai was captured by Pharaoh in Egypt (thinking she was Abraham's sister) before Isaac was born (Genesis, Chapter 12)

Abraham's wife Sarai was captured (taken) by Abimelech, king of Gerar (thinking she was Abraham's sister) before Isaac was born. (Genesis, Chapter 20)

The attempted destruction of the male line of Israel in Egypt, Exodus 1:15-16:

15. And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

16. And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

The destruction of the whole nation in Pharaoh's pursuit, Exodus 14.

After David's line was singled out (2 Samuel 7), that was the next selected for assault. Satan's first assault was in the union of Jehoram and Athaliah by Jehoshaphat, notwithstanding 2 Chronicles 17:1. Jehoram killed off all his brothers (2 Chronicles 21:4).

The Arabians slew all his children, except Ahaziah (2 Chronicles 21:17; 22:1).

When Ahaziah died, Athaliah killed "all the seed royal" (2 Chronicles 22:10).
The babe Joash alone was rescued; and, for six years, the faithfulness of Jehovah's word was at stake (2 Chronicles 23:3).

Hezekiah was childless, when a double assault was made by the King of Assyria and the King of Terrors (Isaiah 36:1; 38:1). God's faithfulness was appealed to and relied on (Psalm 136).

In Captivity, Haman was used to attempt the destruction of the whole nation (Esther 3:6,12,13. Compare 6:1).

Joseph's fear was worked on (Matthew 1:18-20). Notwithstanding the fact that he was "a just man", and kept the Law, he did not wish to have Mary stoned to death (Deuteronomy 24:1); hence Joseph determined to divorce her. But God intervened: "Fear not".

Herod sought the young Child's (Jesus) life (Matthew 2).

At the Temptation, "Cast Thyself down" was Satan's temptation.

At Nazareth, again (Luke 4), there was another attempt to cast Him down and destroy Him.

The two storms on the Lake were other attempts.

At length the cross was reached, and the sepulchre closed; the watch set; and the stone sealed. But "God raised Him from the dead." And now, like another Joash, He is seated and expecting (Hebrews 10:12,13), hidden in the house of God on high; and the members of "the one body" are hidden there "in Him" (Colossians 3:1-3), like another Jehoshaba; and going forth to witness of His coming, like another Jehoiada (2Chronicles 23:3).

The irruption of "the fallen angels" ("sons of God") was the first attempt; and was directed against the whole human race.

When Abraham was called, then he and his seed were attacked.

When David was enthroned, then the royal line was assailed.

And when "the Seed of the woman" Himself came, then the storm burst upon Him.

“As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
—Romans viii. 14.

A waterworks engineer made an unbelievable and important scientific discovery and decided to send a letter to Christians rather than notify leading experts in the field to investigate and report. The model of this amazing find can be found in a strip mall fossil museum in Texas. GMAFB.

Can you explain to me why "strip mall" is even relevant?

Where does a small independent museum set up shop anyways?

They need to be on a main drag for business traffic. They're not the Smithsonian with a 10 or 12 million dollar endowment from someone to start a museum complex.

It's a museum run by fundamentalist Christians. I would expect it to be exactly where it is -- in a strip mall. Or maybe in a double-wide at the local trailer park.

Yes, they're definitely not the Smithsonian, that's for sure.

Great, contact the museum get them to notify people educated in the field. No paleonthologist is going to let this opportunity pass him by if its genuine.

Untill they do, it's bunk.

I doubt that a paleontologist will be interest in investigating a SCULPTURE of a femur bone -- a femur bone that was supposedly found in the Middle East 50+ years ago but no longer exists due to it "turning to dust" when it was touched.

Way to ignore the rest of my post and focus on my comment about the building.

Fine, forget the building. It's still a Creationism Museum. The femur that is being displayed is still just a sculpture, and not a real femur.

Let him explain how that particular bone turned to dust.

Otherwise its a false assumption based off of other remains.

And if you're making assumptions like this you're probably not qualified to handle evolutionary fossils or study them because a lot of them are found in bits and pieces also.

Certainly Splendour's expertise in evolutionary fossils is serving her well in this thread.

Everyone should just cool it... there certainly is a model of a giant femur bone in this strip mall. If a hand made model of a giant femur bone isn't proof that there were giants, possibly centuars... then you guys are just trying to not believe.

Actually these are real. A buddy of mine found one in his back yard. He stumbled across it while playing kickball by himself. It was already dead. Unfortunately, before he called the media he wanted to give it a bath(you know so it would smell and look good for the camera). He must have used some weird shampoo because it turned the Centaur into liquid and it went down the drain when he emptied the bath water.

Luckily for the scientific community he produced an exact replica of the Centaur using toothpicks and marshmallows. Now obviously this is just as good of evidence as there is no way that he would know how to create an EXACT REPLICA without having seen it for real.

case closed.

Oh, and you can see it on display in his mom's basement. $10 a head.

Several of the regular posters trolling on here haven't even read the whole bible by the things they say you kind of clue in on that. So none of them have taken it far enough to see what some of the ancient OT rabbinic explanations are.

I leave them to research it for themselves but a lot of the moral OT arguments are flat out wrong and based on an inaccurate knowledge of ancient events and ancient Jewish beliefs and customs. The OT is like a serious section of puzzle. You still need spiritual discernment and the rest of the puzzle before making any argument at all.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My comment had to do with the ridiculousness of femur "find"

And if you want to believe that I have not read the bible that is fine. I do happen to believe that Nephilim existed. I just don't think that this anywhere close to anything that could be considered evidence. If that makes you conclude that I have not read the bible then so be it.

Is it my imagination or did you think you were responding to an entirely different thread? Your response in no makes sense as a rebuttal to the post you replied to or to any post in this thread.

No one is making arguments in this thread based on morality in the OT.

Not to mention the fact that anyone who claims 'Satan' appears in Genesis, can't scold others for not being familiar with OT rabbinnic writings. In the OT 'Satan' is a title, not a person or a being. Satan as a being is a late Christian invention. But carry on.
