Creationist Offers $10,000 to Any Evolutionist Who Can Scientifically Disprove Genesis in Court

Is it just clever wording in that Science, and specifically Evolution, can't disprove Genesis if by that he means the origins of the universe?

It doesn't seem very intellectual, more like a marketing effort than a real desire to debate meaningfully.

Sounds too easy as described, so I don't believe the creationist can act honestly here. They're picking the judge or alternatively as step 1 is "1.The non-literal Genesis advocate puts $10,000 in escrow with the judge", then that's the exact moment additional, previously unstated requirements appear.

Man, I want in on this. The only problem is that despite Mastropaolo's stated adherence to Christianity and the ethical system attached to it, I assume the judge will be in his back pocket

How much would a case like this cost? In the thousands, surely. Couple that with the amount of time needed to put together a legal-style presentation that would probably need assistance from an attorney, and few would approach this for the chance to win a mere $10k minus all costs.

Also: It would be foolish to consider this without knowing which judge would be presiding. After all, they might end up losing irrespective of their arguments AND being ordered to spend time in Bible study for their sinful nature!

PS Creationists (arggg!) bragging about all the debates they have won reminds me of Conan O'Brien's Fan Corrections segment ("hundreds of challengers, no winners, we don't make mistakes!")

Seems to me they need to be much more specific about what they're claiming before we can even know what this is really about. Evolution vs Genesis is a non-argument, what's he actually going to be claiming?
