i'm not sure if his father was a priest, minister or father. i do know that his father preaches in that church though.
to make up, i did tell him that everyone in this world says foolish things. to which he said, then you distance yourself from everyone cause you only need god as your friend. then i said that i wasn't trying to offend him, just trying to test what he said is true in ALL cases.

Its already been done, Jesus Christ is the ONLY one who had to lay down his live to save mankaind as a whole. This whole line of questioning and discussion is stupid in the first place and has no point at all that I can see.

he maybe a moron but i def understand where he's coming from. he's actually a decent guy and the only reason he gave those reasons is because he thought they were right(bible said so). If bible said giving up your life is right in those cases, he'd answer how the bible told him so i guess.
I am a Christian and I would give my life in all 3 of these instances. I cannot believe that the God that I know would send me to Hell for doing this and frankly I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I chose the latter and watched 300 kids get slaughtered.

What about a more realistic scenario, like a heroic soldier who jumps on a grenade or holds off the enemy platoon to save his buddy's knowing full well he is going to die. Is he condemned by God?

He doesn't have to sacrifice himself. Jesus already made the only sacrifice we need. Instead he should pray that the grenade doesn't explode. Soldiers die on the battlefield because they don't pray enough.

I don't believe he is condemned. Rather, I think this act would be glorified by God as it is so selfless.
