I'm just putting this out here so it doesn't look bad later ...

I have a pending deal with someone to back me but they are kind of dragging their feet with the contract and funds, so I'm still putting out applications in case it falls through because I really need to start playing soon. Anyone who responds to my application will be notified of this fact.

I have a horse that has played live since BF. I decided to end the stake- horse was in make-up for around $3,000. He lives out of the US and our main contact now is via email. I asked him for updates on his sessions- hours, a few hands, total wins/losses/etc. After his last update I emailed back and ended the stake. I asked him to deposit the remaining bankroll of $2,954 in my Bank of America account (there is a Bank of America branch near where he lives). The total that I requested to be deposited was taken from his email report with bankroll total.

I did not hear from him for 6 days. During that time I asked for an update and confirmed that he had my account number at the bank. Today, after 6 days, I received an email from him. He said that he had a rough few days and lost over $1,500- he said he has $1,294 total. He said he had not checked email and did not know that I was ending the stake.

I'm curious- what should I receive back? Assume- no mu- he owes nothing because I ended the stake- I'm only curious about what bankroll total should I receive back.

He doesn't get to freeroll you and its not your fault he didn't check his email for almost a week.

BTW there's a thread for this here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/13...stions-166284/

What you should receive: $2954.00
What you will (might) receive: $1294.00
Price of lesson: $1500.00

-Don't stake people live you can't be face to face in person within a day.
-Don't do business with him again.
-Warn others whom could possibly have dealings with him in the future.

100% Responsibility of the stakee.

If there is a contract between the two parties, this responsibility should be outlined.

I am going to try to work this out with him- if it doesn't, then I will give his information. I think it's reasonable to include this data in a future staking decision.

First of all sorry about my english.

Hi, im a spanish MTT player. My SN is TocalaSam. I've been reading this forum long time ago but i know anyone here for vouch for me if I try to sell a package. Im well known in spanish forums but obv this not counts. I have a 80% Roi with a 25$ ABI on 2,5k games. I played too like 6k SNGs. I dont know if that can help me or not.

I could give my skype, hotmail or anything that the buyer wants. I feel like i need to post 1k messages and maybe still anyone could buy a piece. Well if someone can give some kind of advice i will apreciatte it.

I currently stake a player for 50k cash hands and he's down about $700. He's just won some money in a live game and now wants to go off on his own. he has played 30k hands. He has won for me money in the past which far exceeds the $700 loss but was in a different 50k hands deal. Do I have any options or should I just let him go off and play on his own and just take the $700 loss? We are friends and no formal agreement has been made.

Your friend is being a dick quitting early whilst in makeup. I'd try to work some sort of compromise out.

Pretty much, you have be offering a pretty good deal to tempt people to keep extra money on US sites to offset the risk/pain of getting that money stuck like FTP/UB

I see a staker in the forum is offering 70/30 deals and there has been some comments to how unusual this is. It seems to me like 70/30 is the fairest price to keep the horse motivated but I know nothing of the costs involved in staking. Why do backers usually ask for 50% of profits and how good or bad an idea is it to stake someone with average skills and volume for only 30% of profits?

Thanks.

Quick question about make up:

If i go into make-up with a backer do i earn anything while i'm grinding out of make-up? It would seem to make sense to me that if a backee gets into makeup that he would still see a very small portion of his profits just to give backee insentive to continue to play. If this werent the case, wouldn't it make sense for a backee to just not play?

A little confused about makeup. Hope someone helps me understand this better

Its basically frowned upon to leave a stake in makeup, so if you don't at least try to grind back the money, you may not be backed by others. If you get very deep into makeup and haven't made money in a long time, some backers will give you a % to keep a player paying the bills etc

Hi a quick question about staking

if it is not specified, what is the standard procedure for make up if the stake ends whilst the stakee is in loss?

In the agreement it was stated that if i was down for the month that make up had to be made.
However I ended this contract if this makes a difference, it was ended because i felt that my staker/coach did not provide me with much help anymore and that i was just burning his money because of the lack of help.

Thanks!

What are some scenarios of what you do for rakeback and deposit bonuses if you are doing a 50/50 MTT stake with make up? Do you just go 50/50 on rakeback and deposit bonuses as well?
