Advice for how long to stay in a staking deal. Longer than neccessary? Advice for how long to stay in a staking deal. Longer than neccessary?

If your staker is willing to stake you indefinately, would you ever keep up the staking deal longer than neccessary? When I say longer than neccessary I mean carry on getting staked even if you have made enough money to play on your own bankroll.

I can see why some wouldn't. You might get to stage where you end up giving away 45k$ of your profits due to a 50/50 deal for example, when you could have kept it for yourself playing on your own roll.

Unless you have a reason or get given a really good reason why you should carry on for that long in the stake, some might say its burning money?

Are there any advantages to carrying on with the stake longer than you need to? I've known of 1 who had to do something similar because they borrowd money from their staker to go sick on 8 spins on a roulette wheel, just out of degen bordem, and then have to make that back for their staker through poker. Rare circumstances though.

Any other reasons you might want to carry on longer than you have to?

If you are able to play long term on your own roll and are a successful player, I wouldn't see any reason to be staked. If you are a serious player and treat it as a business, you can leave when you want just like a job.

I can see someone staying in longer than normal if the staker was a friend and you dont mind giving them money or if you had some sort of arrangement.

The reason I play on a stake even though I could probably move off of it and build a roll on my own is because of the accountability and discipline a stake provides. While playing on my own roll I can take ridiculous shots, make stupid plays, etc. without ever having to explain myself or anyone to keep me in line. Since a good amount of potentially winning poker players are instead losing players because they lack discipline, a stake can be great for a large amount of the poker community. I also get great coaching as a part of my deal and have several people I can talk to at any time of day about hands, variance, etc.

so who staked you ^^ :P

anyways, one reason would be risk-adverseness. If someone doesn't want to use their own money in fear of losing it, they could get a stake and transfer the risk over to another person in return for a good investment.
