Dear Two Plus Twoers:

This is the thread where you’re encouraged to post suggestions for new features, new instructors, and new video formats.

We also welcome your thoughtful critique of CardRunners and StoxPoker. We’re the first to admit that we miss the mark now and then, sometimes by inches and other times by a mile. This is the thread to tell us what we’re doing wrong, and what we can do to make your experience better. We’d appreciate it if you keep all posts constructive so that we take steps to improve. If you have unresolved concerns, we’d be happy to address them with you individually. Simply email Lee Jones (leej@cardrunners.com), and you’ll soon have his undivided attention.

Thank you,

Nick

1. Stop letting ezmogee write OPs or post in general unless he cuts out the ******ed hip hop crap. If this doesn't piss off everybody else I'd be extremely surprised. Maybe you're just having fun or whatever but it looks pretty unprofessional and stupid.

Does he really talk like this IRL? Ezmogee, put down the Will Smith cds, thanks.

2. Your descriptions are still way too long, how many times has this been mentioned already? Putting the instructors name before the series title is a good step but can't you put the descriptions into a mouse over pop up as well?

3. Are you ever going to get your instructors to reply to questions on the forums/comments sections? Until you fix this you're always going to be a distant third (at least) in the video training industry, sorry.

My subscription ran out a little while ago and I haven't felt compelled to renew it yet. Sure there's a couple of videos I was curious about (Nutedawg's for one) but besides that I just couldn't be bothered. Best of luck with the new forum.

Kenny-

I just texted SixPeppers to double check, but I believe that he's working on a deepstacked, full ring series. And if he's not, we'll certainly make it a suggestion in our next video meeting. Having destroyed the MSNL full-ring games over the past five months, he's a great choice to make a full-ring series.

Anyways, I'll post here when I hear back from SixPeppers.

Thanks,
Ezra

Nah, I'm just joking around and trying to have fun. I'm really sorry that you don't like it -- I'm just energetic and being goofy. Though, admittedly, I do like my old school Fresh Prince.

We get to be serious a lot at CardRunners, so sometimes I like to have fun on Two Plus Two. But I'll try not to annoy you in the future

As for points #2 and #3, I'll offer a brief comment and allow Lee to follow up. Opinions vary as to whether the descriptions are too long, but we will try to emphasize the video's instructor at the beginning of each description to make your life a bit easier.

I'll also let Lee address forum contributions, but I've noticed a lot of newer instructors like Nutedawg, Zaitsev, Verneer, MasterLJ, and [vital]Myth being extremely active in responding to questions in the "Video Discussions" forums.

Hope this helps!

Ezra

Fair enough, thanks.

It's not that I can't find out who the instructor is, I can see that easily now that you've changed "title" to "instructor - title". The problem is that I have no interest in well over half the stuff you put out. You're trying to cater to lots of different players, and that's your choice, but the majority of your customers have to scroll down through loads of text to pick out the one or two that look semi interesting to make a decision on. If you put out nothing but top class, relevant videos then there'd be no problem, but you don't.

I'd just like the page to be a little tidier so that I don't have to spend so much time finding stuff. I suggested a solution to this before that went unanswered:

Quote:
I think another problem is that the video section just looks so spammy, there's just so much utter crap on there, you couldn't even pay me to watch some of it. How about setting up some filters that are saved to our profile when we log-in so that we can cut out the noise. Like whenever I log in it's set so that I only see videos that are:

[x] cash games
[x] NLHE or PLO
[x] HU or 6max
[x] >= 200nl

That would cut out over half the videos on the first page and would make finding stuff that actually interests me so much easier. You could always put a "show all" button on the video page so people can see what's been filtered out if they want.
That was 3 and a half months ago when you didn't even have the long winded descriptions, now it's even more spammy and harder to find stuff.

It's not like it's the first time I've pointed this out. In fact the first time I was told we were lucky to have them doing videos at all. I know it's not in their contracts, blah, blah, blah, but I'm just telling you you'll never catch up to the competition unless your pros answer member's questions.

I'm really glad they are, that's definitely a positive step. And not only will the video they're discussing have more worth for the viewers, their future videos are going to be better for it as well.

EDIT: For example, after Raptor's first video he answered a load of my questions in the discussion thread and one of the topics was his approach of making hands easier to play vs. aba's approach of maximizing expectation at every decision point. Not only did Raptor bring up that topic and discuss it further in his next video but a few months later aba provided a counter argument in another video.

To contrast that you can look at the comments section for aba's first (or maybe second) part of I like to move it, where both me and Nutedawg provided counter arguments to the hand he discussed in depth (3betting AJo from the SB vs. a BTN open). Instead of addressing the arguments in the comments section he just briefly mentioned it in his next video and basically gave a non-answer that I can't even remember.

Kenny-

Just a note that I followed up with SixPeppers and unfortunately his next series is a $3/$6 6-Max DEEP series, where all tables have buyins of 200bb or greater.

This deep format will certainly apply to live cash games which play deeper than 100bbs, but I know it's not the full-ring you were looking for.

I will continue following up with our instructors to see who will be making our next full-ring series.

Thanks,
Ezra

pls, LIMIT HOLDEM 6m, low-mid stakes there is not nearly enough. Either more limit coaches, or just add more to the schedule. but please!! more limit stuff. I'm enjoying dc a hell of alot more lately b/c they release a (60 min+) limit video like every 3 days. it feels like im never on your site b/c i usually just check and see that there's no limit stuff, and just leave.
thx
(this is meant to be directed at stoxpoker)

We have released 10 LHE (not counting the CR LHE bonus) videos since 9/1/08, which makes 1 every 4 days. We will continue to release 2 LHE videos per week for the forseeable future.

I posted this just before the old forum closed so I thought I'd stick it here too.

Not sure if this has been done but I would love to see a half hour or so video of one of the pros going over their last say 100K hands (or even better the last 100K hands of a different pro or cardrunners/stoxpoker member) in a PT3 database and using all of the nifty filters and reports and stuff to find leaks and suggest improvements to their game. I've got this amazingly powerful piece of software and all I really use it for it to check my $/hr and BB/100.
10-12-2008 , 09:16 AM
Quick and easy one I hope.

Could cardrunners guys add viewed = no into the search criteria for your vids? Thanks.
10-12-2008 , 08:43 PM
Hi Tom -
Unfortunately, nothing in the software world is "quick and easy". I agree that a "Viewed = no" filter would be cool, but I don't think we'll get to that in the near future. As it is, we're keeping our software development folks busy non-stop.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

Fair enough. Stox have got one, could you just steal theirs? (computer noob obv.)
10-13-2008 , 03:03 AM
you can click an arrow next to "title" and "added" to list by title a-z or date how tough would it be to add that little arrow to say rating or viewed? That'd work to solve the issue.

Stox's software development is done in a different place than CR's (for now) so it's not like we could just steal it. Cool as that would be. In fact, there's an old expression in the computer world: "WIBNI" ("Wouldn't it be nice if..."). The usage is:

"WIBNI we could just steal Stox's 'viewed=no' filter."

But I'll definitely keep this in mind.

Regards, Lee
P.S. I think "computer noob obv" needs to be an acronym.

I'm thinking about joining stox/cardrunners but only if you going to expend your variety, after all poker its more than holdem(and plo).
I would like to see some plo8 and nlo8 vids(sng mtts and cash games) why not signing some regular from the sngs scene and cash games.
i hope Chris Fargis will continue with 27td series on stox and adding badugi and 27sd to the mix.
Nice job covering Razz on stox btw.
You are doing great job covering holdem, but its just not for me, and alot of other folks.

We would love to have you sign-up, but coaching roster changes will continue to be slow at both sites. Stoxpoker is always on the lookout for good MTT/PLO/SNG talent, and we have done some things to bolster our roster, but our video splits currently make some good sense to us. Offering 50-60 videos per month DOES allow us to cover A LOT of stuff, but currently what we have is about what the future will hold.
10-14-2008 , 01:23 PM
Still having problems, it's been close to a month since I started watching Stox videos again there are still consistant DRM issues.
10-14-2008 , 02:14 PM
Hi Froobert.

Please email me directly with a phone # and best time to contact you. The best way to resolve this would be to allow someone from our support team to log into your computer and see first hand what this issue is and how to resolve it.

At this point it is almost certainly a configuration issue but that is something we can resolve.

Thanks

KPR has not made any LHE videos for CardRunners for a while, this is a shame because he is an excellent poker instructor. Any chance that you guys could ask him to make some more.

You're in luck, yesterday in fact I just talked with him about this, and he'll be back at it soon. I agree KPR is fantastic.
