I don't think you've thought about that subtext very much, which is ok most people don't - that's why dog whistles are so effective. I tried to explain it a little but probably didn't do a good job and ended up confusing you even more so I guess I'll just stop.

Also, I wasn't really triggered. That's why I put "triggering" in quotes. Break down in communication all over the place.

Hurtful.

So it feels to me like you’re kind of misinterpreting my words, to accuse me of something I wasn’t doing(probably my fault..) I was merely trying to show my confusion from my perspective, and trying to figure out what, if anything, is controversial about Bernie, because for me, there isn’t much. As for it being a type of dog whistle politics, of course I haven’t thought of the context, because I was not aware of it, because I’m not American, which is like the whole point/problem.

Could it not be said that the whole Bernie= socialist trope is also a dog whistle?

You got a job? Nice one.

I think fuluck said you had to get a job and move out of your dads house though, so we’re safe for now, he’s not quitting posting just yet.

Fair enough, but it is common enough in the US that I saw a version of it just this morning.

The reason I was going on and on about polling on medicare for all and people voting Biden is because it's an example of people voting to the right of what they'd like because they don't believe that they can get policy that the majority of American's support implemented. So, to your point - there isn't much controversial about Bernie. Americans and especially Democrats actually support his policy agenda. The problem is that a) Americans are subjected to massive amounts of propaganda and b) Institutionally it would be anywhere from very hard to virtually impossible to implement his agenda.
