tbh bogan i rly wouldnt want to work 48 hours if he wasnt picking up my shift and i was allowed overtime i probaly would of tell him see if some1 else is willing.

Dammit Bogan, I'm going to try to clear this up before it goes on for another 50 posts.

Danger picked up someone's shift, but since he's not allowed overtime he has to have that same person pick up his shift some other time in the week. Danger is netting ZERO additional hours. He is only working 40 hours because it's company policy NOT to have overtime.

Weekend penalty rates mean you get paid extra for working on weekends, here you get 1 1/2 for the first 4 hours on a saturday and the double time on sundays you get double time all day
we get paid every week. he just hasnt offlillically picked up my shift yet. but if he doesnt than it would be 48 hours. and no time in half on the weekends i cant recall the last weekend i had off even. i only was off this saturaday bc i gave up my shift by choice. and the last sunday i had off was requested.

Yeah he hadnt said it was in the same week tho so i was assuming he was doing it at a later date...........

Yeah, if that was the case the company would be forced to pay him the overtime, which is why they go out of their way to discourage it. I seriously doubt that danger would get fired for 8 hours of overtime, unless they were looking for a reason to fire him anyway. It would cost a lot more to hire/train a new employee so it would be prohibitive to fire him just on an economic basis regardless of the morality of it, but he probably would receive a reprimand, or some BS to discourage him doing that in the future.

Unskilled labor in the US are exploited quite badly, it's sort of sad that many of these exploited workers are so hostile to unions. It makes it hard for me to feel bad for many of them tbh.

Both of my parents were union. I think it makes sense for people not to want to get exploited for their labor.
