Peter Costa is a former American child actor. Costa is best known for his many appearances on The Cosby Show, playing Rudy Huxtable's chubby, mischievous young friend Peter Chiara. In 1987, Costa was nominated for a Young Artist Award, "Exceptional Performance by a Young Actor in a Long Running Series Comedy or Drama", for the role.

He made his first screen appearance in the 1984 film the Flamingo Kid.

Costa made only one appearance on screen after The Cosby Show, in a small role in the 1990 film the Lemon Sisters.

Peter Costa is currently a member of the bands Torrential Downpour and the Kreptaka Bar Band, he plays percussion for both bands which are based in northern New Jersey. His former bands include PT Grim.
