yeah i think it would be pretty boring to sit at a desk all day also. I kinda do sometimes but I work in a research lab so the level of work varies a lot. Sometimes a lot of down time during experiments waiting for stuff. I start medical school in May though

what year are you at LSU?

Genetic luck.

FWIW I have been concerned about it and took all the drugs I dared to, and have slept 6 or more hours a day for the last three days! I feel a lot better, and you can barely read the "Sampsonite" label on the bags under my eyes.

Everyone needs sleep. Some folks can just get by on less there is no trick afaik.

got interviews and waitlisted at US med schools for the 2007 and 2008 entering classes and never got accepted. Was weighing my options and didn't really want to go the Ph.D route in research. Starting looking into the big 4 caribbean med schools and am going that route. Going to American University of the Caribbean. 2 years in St. Marteen and then I do my 2 years of clinical rotations back in the states. Enter the residency match with all of the other US grads. Going into neurology which isn't super competitive to get a residency so as long as I do decent on the USMLE's I shouldn't have too much of a problem matching. Caribbean is a little disadvantaged though compared to US grads. Tougher to get the super competive residencies.

Thinly veiled Kentucky Wildcats t-shirt brag.

I taught one of our other cats to do the UK Wildcat pose with a paw up and his ears back. True Story.

how horrible it will be to have to endure going to school on an island in the Caribbean, with all that sun, fun, ocean, and beach to deal with.....how will you manage

Is it a bad thing that I don't know my blood type?

Often there is though. Modafinil, or Adderall might be a reasonable choice if it were a true exigency and crucial to function at a high level while sleep deprived. I know the Air Force has done this for example.
12-17-2009 , 12:35 PM
they should write scripts for Adderall for new parents in that case..
