I think the biggest problem that you have with the word "fungible" is that you are not a mouth-breathing-moron. You may also have a problem with the word "unique" I think those to words are congruent in rarity, yet are comparatively liberally used. Most things have a qualitative difference. Water is not fungible in my view, since the sulfur tasting crap they call water in North Florida isn't the same thing at all as the nectar that has sat in the ground under Kentucky and steeped in her sweet sweet limestone. I am betting a reasonable person would notice a difference as well. We treat lots of things as "fungible" that are not and it is crushing us. Health Care for example is treated as a commodity and therefore no premium is given for superlative work, and people try to charge as much as they can for worse and worse care. Moronic.
