Were I gay I think I'd still be single. I prefer the independence of an unmerged life regardless of gender. Maybe that does mean my standards are too high, I'm not really in a great position to judge.

Mental and emotional parity among males/females the same age is rare.
I'm not sure most of the males in this subforum expect the June Cleaver-style wife.
I didn't, and it was the promoted norm during my formative years.
Married a younger (only 8 years) woman. She's not a great cook, not a great housekeeper, pretty fair mother. Her IQ may be lower than mine (most people's are ), but she's bright. And, since I don't work and she does, I'm totally not threatened by her career.
