yeah dude a city filled with bigoted irish catholic drunks built next to a swamp is just the bees knees.
12-10-2013 , 11:35 PM
The bigoted Irish Catholic drunks are being replaced by hipsters and immigrants at an alarmingly high rate

Southie and Charlestown (where Departed and The Town were set) are both infested with monied hipsters these days. The crime happens in Dorchester and Mattapan.

You're one to talk about jimmies being rustled elrey
When you're the fan of a perennial powerhouse like me you'll realize these regular season rankings are meaningless. Much like the NHL regular season

but it doesnt try to pretend its some awesome place with awesome people. everyone knows how ****ty it is. if boston just manned up and said yeah, were **** and the place is ****, id prolly be way more ok with it. its the sad "oh were awesome and the best at everything and horray boston" bull**** that makes it so terrible.
12-10-2013 , 11:53 PM
Boston is like the Halifax of the US
12-10-2013 , 11:55 PM
I'm dead serious here Elrey. Where the **** do you read that ****? Bostonites I know are proud but just as self loathing about the ****ty weather and the ****ty traffic as the next city. I see this on tv as well as seeing it in person. And every time I watch a Laker game the announcers have to talk about the "LA scene" and pan to all the Jack Nicholson's in the crowd. They talk **** about the traffic too but it's not like they're not playing up to hollywood too. The narrative you're trying to create is not even close to reality.

youre using stu lantz to make your point? i cant even make a joke about that.

And I should include that I'm aware of the Northeastern media bias. Yes there's more coverage of Boston than other cities in America in general because we're closer geographically to where all the media centers are, but I don't think it's more positive percentage-wise. There's just alot of it. I can understand how this would be annoying.
12-10-2013 , 11:58 PM
but to that end, the vast and utter wasteland that is la is juxtaposed with hollywood (which i might add is its own special ****hole) filled with famous people like justin beiber spitting on people and lilo stealing **** from the prada store on sunset. thats like, making it even ****tier.

1. grand rapids

I think what we are all forgetting here & really the most important thing is that Grand Rapids >>>>>>>
12-11-2013 , 12:03 AM
the ultimate point im trying to make here is not that i live in a exponentially better area, or even one exists.all large cities are their own special version of hell. my point is that boston is not the gleaming metropolis that is force fed to us.

I don't think it is either. But that doesn't mean you'll stop being a dick about it, so why bother.
12-11-2013 , 12:06 AM
And Boston is a whole ****ton better than you make it out to be, so I don't think defending it is totally out of line.
