"We thank you for the time and effort you spent applying for a role with Book Builders. We had over 160 applications for this role and many strong candidates. Unfortunately on this occasion you have been unsuccessful but we wish you the best of luck in finding a suitable position in the near future. Thank you again for applying"

that sports fandom is

…a way of building up irrational attitudes of submission to authority, and group cohesion behind leadership elements — in fact, it’s training in irrational jingoism. That’s also a feature of competitive sports. I think if you look closely at these things, I think, typically, they do have functions, and that’s why energy is devoted to supporting them and creating a basis for them and advertisers are willing to pay for them and so on.

or it's a couple hours entertainment. Occam's Razor might apply here, maybe lol

I gave a girl a ride home from a meeting tonight and we sat in the driveway at her place for a while and talked. I elaborated on some ****ed up thoughts and she said I'm cray but identified with having thought similar things in the past. Before she got out of my car she hugged me (the across-the-seat hug) and kissed me on the neck, which was sorta wtf but she's kinda just affectionate. When she got out she said "bye, I love you" and I was like gdi cause I was clueless how to respond cause it was a very casual ilu, but I was afraid to say anything to lead her on, so it was awkward (imo at least) silence. And now I feel bad, but probably not as bad as if I would have if I concurred. :/

I almost said the only thing that came to mind, which was "thanks" but held my tongue on that too.
